The Schlage Connect Series are Z-Wave. The Schlage Sense series are Bluetooth and require the Schlage Sense Bridge to get on Wi-Fi.

You can get different physical locks keyed to the same key at lowe's or home depot. I have had camelot connect locks on the front and back door for a little over 2 years, and have never used a physical key. I have them integrated with smartthings. I use the keypad when I get home. I replace the batteries approximately once a year when notified via tone on lock that batteries are low, so I have never found myself looking for a physical key to solve a dead battery. I might worry about that possibility if it weren't for the 2nd door, but I believe sudden dead batteries on both doors are unlikely enough to be of no concern. I have automations to lock the doors at night and when my phone leaves the house for more than a couple minutes. I also have automation to unlock the doors if a fire alarm is activated. I use a user code manager within smartthings which lets me create codes for other people, dictating the days and times that it may be used, a limit to the number of uses, and notifies me when it has been used. I have provided instructions in previous threads for adding these items to smartthings. I really can't recommend them enough.

Damn I just bought the schlage sense lock century model for $199 at lowes with that $50 off $250 using filler items. This beats it by a mile getting the handles because they're at least 99 separately.

Is the extra $20 for sense worth it? I dont have any zwave hub but might get a ring alarm in the near future

If you get the sense, expect to pay another 50-70 bucks just to get the wifi adapter to get the lock on your wifi. Only way around that is if you've invested in homekit and have an ipad or apple tv that is a homekit hub.

Or you can spend 40$ on a new (but older model) Samsung connect which has the built in z-wave/zigbee capability. Just did that for my kwikset 910's.

Yeah I was just stating the hidden extra costs of the Sense vs Connect versions of this Schlage lock. It would be cheaper to go the connect route. The connect is 20 dollars cheaper and there are more options to get it connected to a smart home.

Hey guys.. I just closed my first home. I am wondering is it possible to match the garage keys to Schlage keys? Or is it advisable to keep the garage key separate?

Thanks, will get the connect then, thought the sense would natively work with just an iphone

It will work with any phone via Bluetooth but in my opinion it's unreliable.

By Samsung Connect, do you mean the smartthings hub 2? I've been looking into a cheap z-wave hub and I ended up getting the 3 for about $60 instead of the 2 for $40. Still during the return window so I'm wondering if I made the right choice.

When we changed ours we bought something like this for the garage door and back door.

Let's you use the same key for all your doors again.
