Staples no longer PMs online. In-store only. Price match + coupon was always very YMMV. That should be completely obvious.

eBay, search for empty ink cartridges. I always find it funny when people keep knocking Staples in threads and yet they've been essentially giving me free money for years. Tough to beat
So, you're spending $20 to make $40? I'm really confused on how this is profitable unless you are unemployed or your time isn't worth much?

$280 in rewards (7 months *$40)
-$30 on ink
+$20 for reselling ink
-$14 for 7 months of ink (assuming 20 per month at $.10 a cart)
-$25 (half a year of Staples Plus membership cost (if you aren't premier))
= $231 benefit in rewards

I'll just work an extra 6 hours a year = 360 minutes / 52 weeks = 5 minutes extra a week or 1 minute per day

Value your time however you like. I was just helping you out with the math. Many spend less than 5 minutes a month recycling. People here often dismissed doing rebates during their heyday when it was relatively easy to clear 5 figures a year for 2 hrs of work a week. Cheers.

Thanks for your math. So I take it if someone is premier, you make out even greater vs the $49/yr paid plus plan?

Bingo. Another option is signing up for a staples MORE account (credit card) though there are so many better cards to sign up for instead of taking a hard pull for it. The $49 a year plan has historically gone on sale for $25-$30 a handful of times per year (so far every black Friday since its inception).

Apparently I make a lot more than you actually... In hourly and in Staples money. Thanks for reminding me exactly why I never post on here though. Offer some helpful input and get a douchy response right on queue. Sad that the internet is one giant troll.

I think he also forgets that he pays taxes on those 6 extra hours he works.
And probably doesn't know about the relatively frequent $10 off $10 coupons.
Or the $20-$25 ones that can be stacked with the $80 rewards. So a $100 printer will cost $0 and shipped to you for free. I'll be getting a free external blu-ray burner soon.
And I got a couple of 24" curved Samsung monitors for free. Technically they paid me $20 each to take them.
Just keep a bunch of bags of cartridges in the car and when you happen to go by a Staples, turn in 20-40 at a time. Most employees will let you do a 2nd one for church, work, whatever.
It is a bit of a learning process, but you can easily build the routine into your lifestyle and always look for ways to save a little bit more time. Typically I only make purchases every 2 months otherwise I'd be spending 2x as much time by doing it every month.
