Brand new Canon R body on 6Ave via eBay for $1579, lowest price yet, and I've been following this body's price for the past 6 months, this is gray market though:

Not sure if you can get it without sales tax, if so, even better.

Very good price. Grey market though. Anyone with experience with the eBay seller? 6ave has quite a few online complaints against them.

I've bought a few things from them without issues. One does have the eBay buyer protection too just in case.

I'm in the market for this body. Saw this bit too late. Guess this never showed up in my alerts due to thumbs down 😑

Can you comment on what you brought?

The biggest and most frequent complaint for 6ave (and many other NY/NJ based camera shops) is that they will take your order, then call you and upsell you on all the accessories - hood, battery, charger, etc... And if you don't take their offer, they will sit on your order until you get desperate and cancel. This can drag on for over a month since they can simply issue a "tracking number" and never send the package out, but will show up as "shipped" on ebay.

This is a really good price, and I've seen really good price for a 5DM4 and some lens from 6ave in the last 2 month, but very few discussions here. If you google reviews for 6ave, it doesn't look good.

Bought a Canon 80D body and the 28 IS lens. I haven't bought anything from them in the past few years, but their eBay rating is at 99.8% positive, so there must be a few legitimate positive experiences in there.

No idea why this was downvoted, probably by users on here affiliated with authorized sellers? Confused I clearly stated from the beginning in the subject line this was gray market, and I've been regularly tracking the R prices.

As a side note, I'm really enjoying the eos R coming from the 5d4. I don't miss the joystick at all since the touchpad works so well, and the two things that annoyed me will be addressed by firmware 1.2.0 (larger servo box and eye + servo). It also helps that all of my lenses have IS to mitigate the lack of in-body stabilization.

I didn't vote on the deal, but I can imagine 2 negative groups - people that hate Canon for some reasons, and people who hate 6ave. :-)

This is a super deal for a really good camera body. My only hesitation is the fact that I have to buy the adapter (for my existing EF lenses) and the fact that it is from 6ave. If a coupon or ebay buck promotion came up, I probably would've went for it...

If concerned about repairs (since this is grey), just grab a Square Trade warranty on eBay for excellent coverage, including drops.

$139.99 for a 3 year plan..awesome. https://www.ebay.com/itm/270826536938

Thanks. Appreciate if you can DM or create a deal if you come across one again.

Another seller dropped their price on this body to $1650. Also Gray market and this seller is similar to 6ave. They will definitely try to upsell you the USA version, but overall review/rating is as good as 6ave.

This same seller was posted on another gray market Canon deal recently...

Or get the adapter with the built-in ND filter, and instantly have full outdoor wide-open capabilities for all your EF lenses Smilie (the irony is I have to keep all my EF lenses to use it, I wonder if Canon will come out with a rear-drop-in-filter for RF lenses...)
