You can get an old, used HP PC for only $4300. Oh but wait, there's $4.95 shipping, so I guess not a slick deal after all.

Some of the prices on the open box list look like some kind of money laundering scam. Over $400 for an outdated Toshiba Android tablet? $1600 for a Xeon professor? Over $3 Grand for a Dell Latitude laptop with an i7-*2640*???

Ha I think that this discount scales according to how long an open box item has been in stock. So most of the good items will be in the 20-40% discount range

I saw the discounts earlier. I would not roll those dice on motherboards or cases.
They can be missing parts, like screws or I/O plates. You might find you are missing a crucial part after you get a built mostly together.

You do you, meatball.

I've ordered somewhere around 40+ Open Box components over the last 5 years and anytime there is a problem with something I've received (3 or 4 times maybe?) they've issued a full return, no restocking fee, prepaid shipping label. In my book it's pretty minimal risk for some potentially great deals.

Yeah, I call that "an ordeal". But hey, if you wanna go through the frustration feel free.

By the way you can only use each version of the discount code (20, 25, 40 etc) once per account. So if you're looking to order more than one item in the same discount tier, I advise that you do it in a single order.
