Okay random Internet link. Nevertheless, that poster stated they got the listed 40,000 seconds of recording time that Blink says you can do with a set of batteries.

Blink says that this should average out to about 10 of the 5 second recording events each day. Just because that random internet poster decided to use all their recording events over the course of two months, does not make the unit junk. If one wants this in an area where there is a lot of traffic, it has the option of being powered by at USB cord.

At this point, either you are trolling or you live in a state of low-information rationality. Either way, you are not worth the time.

I've had 4 blink cameras set up for 6 months. The "inside garage" camera needed new batteries once but I've since set up the scheduling feature. No more high usage when leaving home and puttering around the garage after work. My house is in a wooded area and it is amazing how many deer, raccoons, squirrels, and neighbor's pets wander around day and night. The cameras are motion activated and record clips up to 60 seconds each. That's enough to see deliveries or visitors or random cars in the drive. This is not the highest quality system but inexpensive to operate, no monthly fees, and easy to set up & operate. It does the job & is definitely worth the price for peace of mind. *hint* When setting up, take a picture of the code inside the camera in case something goes wrong so you don't have to uninstall & open camera to retrieve the code.

This is a real good price for cameras that do a pretty good job. Glad I didn't buy the 5 camera kit for $399 that was offered recently... I'll buy two orders of these and get 6 cameras for the $399.

Not the greatest cam but does the job most of the time. False alarms which results in battery depleting quicker but other times doesn't detect motion if its too fast. Connection wise I never had a problem. If installing outside, I advise a 3rd party mount.

FYI pretty sure these state that they require lithium AA batteries, so that will increase your use cost a bit.

When watching the cameras LIVE, you cannot record at the same time.
When watching the cameras LIVE, after 10/15 seconds you must click "continue" to keep viewing: LIVE

They do. They come with one set up high-end energizer ones. They claim a battery life of 2 years on one set. (of course, they use a disclaimer based on traffic/ alerts)

An eight pack ($12) would last two years, but I would halve that just to be safe if one was worried about the cost. So, count on $12 a year in battery cost.

No ongoing fees and unless you want more options. What they give on this side of the 'pay wall' is decent. Currently, the basic service is free and allows up to one-year of storage. I'm not sure how many clips would fit into that.
Nonetheless, Amazon has an advantage here because the marginal cost of supporting a new security camera user is so small, it prob almost statistically free.

These are not set up for live monitoring. The design was chosen to allow for very low power usage, and it was not a bad design trade off. The auto time out in watching live is to remind the user that the device is running on batteries. The camera does have a micro-USB port, if one wants to power it outside of batteries. I don't know if the click-to-continue watching is disabled in that case. I don't power mine that way.
