The money your saving compared to getting a second or third onhub seems very inefficient to me. Meshing two onhubs gives you superior coverage to the standard google puck which is subpar on both radios, your also getting a device thats AC1900 speeds which is a big difference to the google wifi AC1200 on the pucks, on top of it each of these onhubs can handle 100 + connections.

So for the money and if your looking to get the most performance out of this mesh, your best bet is to go with multiple on hubs. Also since these On hubs throw out a larger signal in a 0-180" front area while still throwing out a good 360" blast your better off having two of these on opposite sides of the house facing each other for best coverage.

If you already have a mesh system set up and want to add this to it, you might need to plug it into the modem directly first and let it update the firmware automatically. The older firmware on it does not let it act as a satellite, only as the primary.

From what I've read, getting TP-Link to honor their warranty is pretty difficult

Can you add the Google mesh to this, or is a router built into the mesh pack?

Yes, I have this as my primary hub and one google puck as a secondary mesh router. Works great, hoping to find a 3rd puck for cheap soon to complete the setup.

Yes they do. It works with the Google Wifi app and it's great. You can set homework time and limit age appropriate content. Also makes it seem like the wifi is down.

I have one. You can add it to the Google Mesh network. It's even set up through the Google Wifi app. You do need to run a software update on it first though requiring an "OnHub" app. Setup took about 10 minutes.

This is correct. Had to do this myself.
