Price matches typically DO work in conjunction with BOGO/B2G1F sales at Target. Some employees may try and deny it as double dipping, but their system should apply the sale promotion automatically after any PM's still. It worked as recently as the B2G1F sale in February.

Sale prices to price match video games in this sale to (to make the deal more palatable):

Kingdom Hearts III (PS4/XB1) - $40 @ Gamestop as of 4/7
Spiderman - $39.99 - pretty much everywhere (Best Buy, Amazon, etc)

You're usually always better off buying from Amazon since Target sells at MSRP price for games. You should support your local game store if paying the MSRP price.
Usually always?? This just isn't true. I frequently find good deals on board games at Target. If you're talking about only video games then perhaps, but this deal is about more than that.

Bump up price to MSRP, offer bogo and sell it to us as a form of discount - oldest trick in the book. Apparently people still fall for it. Include first party Nintendo games then we'll talk. Target is easily the least competitive major retailer when it comes to gaming. Somehow worse than Walmart lol
But it's not something anyone should be upset about either. It's just another way of having a sale rather than the traditional $10-15 off MSRP particular games. At least it's not like a liquidation. You know, boosting prices above MSRP and slashing 10% off.

Right, except there are many games that have been on sale for cheaper ($20 for AC Odyssey everywhere and $40 for RE2 at BB and Amazon... I can get both from different retailers for cheaper than through the Target deal) and without forcing you to buy a second game. There's no win. It doesn't add up.

Agree. This is Strategic Marketing 201 on Target's end.

And Target price matches Amazon plus another 25% off, so...

Except that unless they've changed things since their last similar sale (a B2G1F on games in February) you can price match AND get the sale promotion to apply.

I price matched something like 4 out of the 6 games I bought then and ended up returning three of the six, which ended up giving me games like Red Dead Redemption 2 for $18 apiece.ApplauseLMAO

Personally I may try for Kingdom Hearts III (on sale at Gamestop as of 4/7 for $40) and Spiderman (normally $40) and see if they'll price match both, which should give me both of them for $60 total. It never hurts to try. The worst they can say is NO.

Spiderman is still showing the lower $39.99 price online.

There's quite a few titles up online for the BOGO 50% off with a lot of older, lower priced ones. So if you're not looking for new releases the BOGO 50% off may let you pick up some gems you might have missed for a bit of a discount.

Anyone have any tips on how to sign up for an alert when an item comes back in stock on Target.com? Not finding anything via Google and NowInStock.net doesn't list the item I want to track.

Yeah, Spiderman was in-store at Target for 40 bucks last week... regular price. Not amused @Target... not amused.

EDIT. Checked link, 40 bucks online. OP was wrong and I didn't read enough. Carry-on.

Let's say I buy 2 and decide to return 1, Target will still give you 25% off the item you keep correct?
