These are new items that are considered a second due to a minor shading variance between the top and side panels.

Great price on a great bag if you don't mind color variations. It's NEW with full warranty. Free Shipping. Tax is YMMV. I have owned a TNF basecamp and used both a patagonia black hole and this bag.

How do you like it for routine city to city air travel, not back country?

It doesn't really work for back country at all not having a frame. You'd hate yourself after hiking more than a couple of miles with it on. It is mostly for exactly what you asked about - routine air and rail travel. The backpack style straps are very handy at the airport for keeping your hands free for other bags/kids/etc.

Thanks BitO and xjmllc. I'm going to try it. It's $12 for return shipping if you don't like it. Wish they had some of those nice colors left Frown

Any points of comparison you can share between these 3 bags?

I imagine that this is way too big to qualify as a "personal item" for most airlines?

It's a huge bag, not even close to carry on size. Here are some pics for reference.

really like the looks of this bag but wish it had some sort of wheeled feature, seems huge and not sure I'd want it on my back for very long. Kind of hits right in the middle, not good for hiking but also not good for city comfort either. Kind of just a big sack to throw stuff in, but it looks so good!

Anyone know if this is too large for a carry on?
