What a scam.. "Thank you for your interest. Your application was declined as we were unable to verify your source of initial deposit required to open your account."

They collect all this information about your and your employment and then I get this?!

First they said I can use my login for my bank to verify and that failed, then they said they would make 2 small deposits into my band account, however I was greeted with that declined error message.

Something smells fishy.

Oh nice. Is there a fee if I take out? Also is this the best interest out there now? Or is money market accounts better?

Are you referring to the illegal activities HSBC does? I wouldn't touch them with a pole, let alone give them my money for interest.

Vanguard money market is about 2.49% or so currently. Places like Cit bank is around 2.45%. Other places have 2.3-2.4%ish accounts. Purepoint has a no-penalty CD at 2.6%

But with 20K to play with, you may be better off doing the bank bonus game -- Discover/Capital One/HSBC checking/Citi and so on.

$15 wire transfers. Expect to pay for each incoming wire transfer.
$25 account closing fee. If you close your account with HSBC within 180 days of opening it, you'll be charged a $25 fee.
No ATM access. The HSBC Direct Savings account is an online account, which means you won't be able to access your funds from an ATM''

15$ wire transfer ? can someone help me here? what does it mean ? if I send money from my checking act I will be charged 15$ ?how I deposit money then ?
