Just received an email from Fidelity…

Costco Membership is normally $60/year. With this offer, you can get a Costco Membership (new members only, it appears) for $20 using a Fidelity Visa rewards card [fidelity.com]. Ends April 30.

If you additionally sign up for auto-renewal with the Fidelity Visa card, you'll get a $20 Costco Cash card, for a net of $0 for the first year.

Quote :
Use your Fidelity® card to purchase a Costco Membership Activation Certificate online for a new Costco Gold Star Membership¹, and we'll give you a $40 statement credit.
  1. Purchase a membership through this Link [costcomembershipoffer.com] between April 1 and April 30, 2019.
  2. Print your certificate.
  3. Present the certificate at your local Costco membership counter.
  4. Receive your $40 statement credit within 6 to 8 weeks after your membership purchase.

As an added bonus, when you present your certificate at your local Costco and sign up for auto renewal of your membership at the time of sign up with your Fidelity® Rewards Visa Signature Card, you will receive a $20 Costco Cash Card by mail within 4 to 6 weeks.

Note the addition of expired membership.
"New member promotion not valid for renewal of an existing or expired Costco Membership."

I'm pretty happy with the Sam's $45 membership for free, they put the $45 on my acct and I used it right away on a car battery.
The guy's face in auto dept was kind of funny, when he saw the total drop to $65 he said, "Well this is wired it just..."

With these great cash back features on my Sam's and Costco credit cards I am way too scared to churn my membership. Don't want to risk losing accumulated cash back.

churn? i don't think you can activate if you've had membership in the last 18 months

Churn as in change to wife's name then to daughter then back to me. The nice credit cards make it too risky and impossible to time.

Do they allow you to keep the Sams and Costco credit card if you are no longer a member?

The answer is no, according to the fine print. But who knows in reality. Sam's club says you can keep the card.

I assume you lose the Costco "lifetime" warranty if you cancel membership?

there was a very similar deal i got using my navy federal card last year

https://slickdeals.net/f/10693244-costco-gold-star-membership-free-for-navy-federal-nfcu-visa-cardholders?v=1

it was through the same link/domain as this deal (costcomembershipoffer dot com). people said it was targeted, however, i was not targeted and received the statement credit without issue, and, so did other people

They do actually, the card can be used indefinitely, but will no longer serve as a membership card once your actual membership is expired. I have personally done this on both over the years, I actually ended up recently getting a new sams club membership separately to take advantage of a new member promotion and continue to use my credit card from the other account separate.

Does churning work even if you add yourself as the additional cardholder on the membership?
