This one at walmart doesn't have OLED either. Only the Tab S series do.

Costco version is 10 inch not 10.5. It has 2gb ram and 16gb rom. It has a physical home button, so doesn't have the slim bezel.
Thank you, I knew Costco always has to give you a lot less for your money at a slightly lower price.

The costco deal is still a decent deal. You can't compare a HIGHLY YMMV Walmart deal vs a costco deal. I have spent too much on gas money hunting walmart deals to ever trust it again. Walmart employees are notorious for saving the items for themselves.

Yea but I'm sick and tired of having a "Costco SKU" item that is different than the one everyone else has. Like in this case the bezel on teh Costco one is 0.5" larger? what a turn off.

The costco model is not some special costco model. It is an older model than the one at Walmart. Walmart actually sells also a model just like the costco model, but that's not as good of a deal. if you read this thread completely from the beginning you will know some people got the 10 inch model by mistake instead of the 10.5 inch. Nowaways most electronics items at costco is the same as other places, with the exception of TVs.

Even samsung sells same version as costco still.

They also sell the 10.5 inch version that is same as OP:

Yes, I blame Samsung for this. I've been looking for a large-screen tablet for a little bit now and their naming conventions on tablets are so scatter-brained and poorly thought out. Actually you could say this about Android tablets in general. Say what you will about Apple, but they have an iPad and an iPad Pro, and the year it came out (although I wish this was codified as part of the name, ideally).

I opened it and brought to the gym to use while on the elliptical .... the thing was too big to fit snug on the machine. At one point I almost dropped it and saved by catching it. Would have sucked if I cracked screen on first use, especially since I am likely planning on returning. Was basically watching youtube. Screen was disappointing.

Huh? The tab A has been their midrange model for a while. Last year was 10.1 and this year is 10.5. What's so difficult to understand about that? Go up and get Tab S. Go down and get Tab E. Their naming convention has been the same for years.

And blame the machine on that one. I've been on a few with my Fire 10.1 and have had it almost wedge in, if it fit at all. I actually flip it so the case lid faces down and the screen sits up resting on the screen behind it. It sits higher up which is actually nice.

You can only tell by the description on the back of the box. It says "POGO charging dock included". Nothing else on the box indicates its included.
There model on the box is different by one letter, SM-T590NZKZXAR is this model but there is a 590 that doesn't come with the dock its SM-T590NZKAXAR so you can tell by the model number...

I've been using a Fire HD 10 (2017) for a while now and it's starting to really slow down on me. Side loaded the play store on it and honestly, probably shouldnt have because it's soooooooo slow now but needed access to some play store apps. Looking at notebookcheck it seems this is a similar performer to the HD 10? Would think it would be a bit better with an extra gig of RAM (3 vs. 2) and not having 2 OSes on it essentially like my Fire HD 10. Thoughts?

Fair point, but that's only in the Tab line, they have more tablets than that. Also A/E/S aren't descriptive terms, they're arbitrary labels that don't give you nay information. iPad, iPad Pro, iPad mini: even a random person has a good guess on what their feature set means. And if Samsung were ACTUALLY consistent this thread would be talking about a Samsung Tab A4, instead we have people that don't know what device generation it's from. Smilie

On a personal level it's frustrating that they change details in the feature set that are important to me, changing screen size on the S series from 10.5 to 9.7 back to 10.5 again betrays a lack of confidence in their decisions.

Avoid Samsung like the plague. Few updates and bloated software.
