Home Depot jacked up the price and now gives us discount to make us think it is a good deal.

I guarantee it. I bought the 20" regular mower (not self propelled) with battery last year for $299...no sale at the time. Home Depot just thinks we are all suckers for a "sale".

It's $250 now though.

I got the self propelled model with one battery last month. It works great. But it's not enough juice for my corner lot. I definitely needed 2 batteries.
I bought the cheap Chinese knockoff batteries from Amazon with 6ah. They don't work. The mowers pull too much power for them and die after 15 to 30 secs. Just be careful with that, read the battery reviews if you go that route.

Ryobi just introduced a new 40V 60amp lawnmower. I bet this is Ryobi's way of dumping old inventory. I predict bigger discounts on the old 40V lawnmowers this summer.

OP needs to fix pricing. The model you listed is now on sale for $329 instead of $379.

I don't have a personal experience on the mower, but I can guarantee you that they are. They have a "deal" on some 4Ah One (non-plus) pair of batteries for $99. I found the 4Ah One+ pair of batteries on clearance for $79 at the exact same store. They have the new 6Ah One+ HP battery for $129, I was lucky enough to find the pair of 6Ah One+ HP batteries for... wait for it... $99.

Second example, they have a Ryobi leaf blower for $99 or a bit cheaper (which I bought and I have no complaints) that comes with a 2Ah battery and charger. They have a combo set on sale that includes the Ryobi leaf blower and a mediocre trimmer with battery and charger for $79 or cheaper.

16" version seems pretty great for small yards... I have a corded electric but I HAAAAATE having to drag a cord behind me any time I want to use it and end up just doing a really horrible job with a weed whacker most of the time. This seems like a much better option!
