I was looking at the 9700K + Taichi z390 combo, this would be less than $100 more. I'm concerned about the heating issues on this processor, anyone have experience with heating? I already have a Noctua DH14 not planning to get water cooling and not planning to OC.

So tempting, but with all the possibilities of the Zen 3 and Intel 10nm, there's no way I am upgrading to a 9900K right now, when my 7700K is doing just fine.

Running mine with a Noctua DH14. Zero issues. 25-29 c at idle. I'll run a few tests while gaming and post those temps as well.

EDIT: Interesting....not sure why I am getting thumbs down on this for sharing my temps?

This processor runs really hot. I'm running it at 4.9Ghz with a 360mm aio cooler, and at 2K max settings in the division 2 I'm hovering around 65 celsius. I upgraded from an i5-9600k, and that processor in the same system, but at 4.3Ghz, was hovering around 55 celsius. If you are just gaming and not doing any kind of development or work on your system, I would recommend to go with the 9600K or 9700k

No thanks waiting for new 16 core tech and this will be $300 regular price in a year, perhaps even a sale for $250.
Where do you get the idea it'll go that low in a year?
