Best Buy is offering the free Echo Dot with Ring Stick Up Cam and also had the buy 2 Stick Up Cams and get $30 off, like Amazon is offering. Tried and both promos stacked at Best Buy, so you can get $30 off two cameras and 2 free Echo Dot (3rd Gen). Amazon has both offers but they are exclusive of each other.

Add 2 cameras from the promo and the Echo Dots will automatically add to your cart.

You bet, definitely situational, but if you're planning to get two cameras this is a good option.

Why do they always bundle a Grey/Black Echo Dot? Any way we can pick a white?

Yes, there is a feature that you can set to have all cams or certain cams start recording when an alarm event is triggered.

I didn't see an option for white. You could try an exchange in store to get a white one, I have done something similar in the past and they didn't seem to mind.

Are the Ring Cams better than the Arlo and do you need a subscription?

I have not used Arlo so I cannot comment on them but I have had a lot of success with the Ring hardware (cam, doorbell, alarm, etc.) and definitely recommend them. No subscription is needed but if you would like to have videos saved in the cloud you will need a subscription. If you intend to have multiple cameras I would recommend the $100/yr cost. This extends warranties, provides you a 10% discount on future Ring.com purchases, unlimited camera cloud storage, and if you get the Ring Alarm it also provides 24hr monitor services (typically at least $20/mo with many other companies). So, for me having the alarm, multiple cams, and the doorbell the yearly cost is more than worth it.
