These quickly went from clearance $99 online, back to $149 online. Brick store near me has them on clearance for $99. Located on the back clearance aisle or endcap, not on normal inventory shelves. HDepot appears to be phasing out the old 2.6 Ah battery with a $119 2.0 Ah version.

40V blower same thing with 3.0 Ah battery. I have had one for a year. Solid blower and battery. https://www.homedepot.com/p/RYOBI.../300347267

I picked up a refurbished one last week. It's like a lightsaber for yard work.

Cuts through 1/4 - 1/2 inch thick branches with no problem, and works great on bushes and hedges - best of all - no long extension cord to potentially cut through.

Great timing - I just setup a 'blower' alert yesterday. Just picked up one for $99, thanks! The price tags claim $169 original price.

FWIW (for the blower),
Glastonbury, CT had 2 left @$129 with yellow clearance tags at end of isle.
10 miles away, Manchester, CT had 10 left @$99, unmarked/no-price piled at the end of the isle.

Really dislike this blower, it's so high pitched I have to use hearing protection, kobalt 80v is so much quieter and stronger albeit more expensive.

Wonder why they are on clearance? Nice prices! Moving stock to 80V battery model? Of course I have several 18V Ryobi items and have been quite happy with them!! I'll bet 40V lasts much longer than my 18V!

Why did they change the design of the batteries? Makes any current batteries I have incompatible with these models

Got one for 45 bucks last year at a random Home Depot and it's worked for everything I've needed it for and didn't die, I'd definitely recommend. Prob not the best for heavy duty work though.

I bet they found super cheap 18650 batteries that will die sooner than originals. i'm a pessimist.

These are 40v. Amperage doesn't really matter. Charger still works unless you're talking about one+ batteries. That's a different form factor because of lower voltage... 40v versus 18v.

According to Brick Seek, my home depot had one in stock available for sale, and it was on clearance. I went to the store, but it wasn't ringing up as the clearance price, just the $119 sale price. Also they had 4 in stock, not 1 like Brick Seek and Home Depot's website showed. Oh well.
