This prior FP deal is back. (link below for prior threads) I had bought this previously, and when looking at my order I see it is back on as a deal.

$299.99 I used reward points at Samsung. (Note, I just checked and there is no EPP discount in addition to this.)

I'm loving my unit. If I was Zaphod Beeblebrox I'd have no regrets in buying another set.

Also, note that some reported B&H being slow at shipping this item due to lack of stock.

I got this from bestbuy several weeks ago for $300, so far loving it. Have used it to play elder scrolls and vr porn.
Regarding the gameplay, I have not had any tracking issues so far in about 50hrs of gameplay.
Regarding the porn, it is fantastic. I started with a gear vr on a note 5, then s7, moved on to an oculus go, now this. The go is great, it's still my portable go to, but the +is fantastic. The anti sde shines here, along with it having a larger fov.(specs state they are the same, but I notice a meaning size difference when using them.
My best words of advice...get super high before watching your vrporn
On comfort, it's good enough that I never get tired wearing it. could be lighter but I dont care much. the only thing I dont like about it is the back of the headset. the go uses a flat strap that let's you use it with your head lying back. The back of the + is huge, and wont let you lie back comfortably at all.

Own this one for about 6mo now, OLED and higher resolution makes big difference in eye fatigue vs. other headsets with LED (much smaller screen door). IPD adjustment, built in headset (can be moved up and out of the way), and volume control on headset really add a lot of quality of life improvments. We also have the Oculus Rift and Lenovo Oddesey and this one is by far the preferred unit when doing any VR. It does take my 1080 to power it though without stuttering. Our other PC with a 1070 does ok, but does stutter and screen tear at times.

All that being said, the next gen of VR sets are about to launch this spring/summer from at least 3 diff manufacturers but likely $500+ price point, so this is a great set to get in on VR. Final thoughts are these are actually great for older non computer literate family as it's just a headset and two controllers, so experiencing VR is somewhat intuitive.

I bought this from b&h last time a similar deal popped up. I thought it would be a gimmick and I figured it would just buy me a few nights of entertainment like when I bought the Samsung VR headset for phones, and maybe it would be a fun little thing to pull out for when family or friends with kids come over.

It is absolutely amazing. Maybe I'm still in the honeymoon phase but I'm honestly wondering if I will ever find it as fun and interesting to play a game on a flat screen again. For sure, the graphics are not as crisp or as smooth as on my 165hz gsync monitor. But the sense of being there, and of having to/being able to navigate 3 dimensions in a platformer, or just chilling and revisiting places from my life in Google Earth VR, or having shit run straight at you in an FPS... It's just something else. Yes, tracking isn't as good as the tower based systems, but this is easy to hide and won't invade your living room.
.
Sorry for making this sound like a sales pitch. But if you can afford this and if you have a computer that can pull it, and if you have any interest in VR, this is a pretty great price to get started on. Even in the worst case scenario I can't imagine that this won't sell for at least $150 in a year's time, and then it will have cost me a little over 10 bucks a month to have this. Absolutely worth it for me, in case I decide to upgrade to one of the upcoming headsets.

Tempting, but I'll wait to see the Rift S in a few weeks before I bite on this.

Rift S has better controller tracking than the Odyssey+. Other than that O+ is better than Rift S.

Can anyone with a low IPD (below 60mm) comment on if this works for you or not? I'm a 57mm, and considering this vs the Rift S vs waiting for all the other new ones on the way this summer/fall.

So, this is the one with sensor tracking is limited to a 90 degree arc in front of you.Putting your hands below your chest, or past your ears will cause signal to be lost and tracking to go bananas

I can't imagine ever buying this over a Rift..that has full 360 tracking..

Tracking is not lost instantly. The motion controllers have accelerometers.

That said, it does lose tracking fairly quickly in my use if left out of sight. (the accelorometers re-sync when the controller's leds are visible to the headset again.

If a person happen to have, for example, Vive controllers they can be used in place of the Odyssey ones. Here is a video about that: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UbDHuEkvqZc

As for buying over the Rift, currently the Rift is a dead product are hard to find and $$$. One could wait for the Rift S but it too has inside-out tracking like the Samsung, albeit with more cameras to give better coverage, unknown if this fixes the problem.

Bought from Samsung using my $130 certificate for purchasing an S10 phone, since I'm not a big fan of the earbuds functionality and quality. Came up to $170 plus post discount tax.

I have owned a rift for about a year and a half, recently got this Odyssey+ from the last 300 deal to set up for a friend. It does have less sde than rift for sure but is not as comfortable or as light as rift. Plus the tracking is not as good.
Personally I like my rift better still especially for playing games with it being lighter and more comfortable. For those not able to mount 3 sensor around the room this is still a good deal.

I own these. Anyone who wants these for sim racing will be very pleased. I dont play much of any other vr title so the tracking isnt an issue. For sim racing at this price its a no brainer
