Great deal on a great amp, love the 60 degree true monitor angle on these combos, beats out any kick-back style model. Plenty of wattage on tap, I'm in for one... thanks Iconian!

I've used this amp when I play gigs and sounds great was debating on getting one but ended up going with a Fender

Are Ampeg (quality and sound-wise) still as good as they were back in the mid 70's? I had a V-4 that just thumped and loved it.

I was doing a little research on Ampeg after looking at some of their amps. Some music stores aren't a fan of the quality due to not being made in the USA or tech issues around mid 2000s and up. Last year they were bought by Yamaha so it's still in the air if they had time to improve. Their SVT pro 3 sounded good when testing it recently and it had made in the USA on the back. Still curious on the quality after some usage though.

Glad this finally made it to front page, hopefully gets some more comments now. Been at this price for a few days but was reluctant to bite cuz haven't heard much talk about it. Amazon reviews seemed like a real mixed bag as far as quality control goes.

I don't know anything about bass amps and want one for the bass I bought a month ago. This looks like a good one to my noob eyes.

That said. The thing about his deal that scares me is there is 10% 1 star ratings on Amazon. Most of them say it doesn't work out of box or has bad noise out of box. Not that bad, at least you know you got a lemon within return period. Here's the problem..

Adromada return policy says 100% Refund within return period, but BUYER PAYS RETURN SHIPPING. As far as I know, return shipping on an item this big and heavy costs a fortune. $90?? I don't know.

Definitely a valid concern about return shipping. I would ask what their policy would be if you receive an amp which was DOA. You shouldn't have to pay $100 for shipping a broken amp back to them.

Unless things have changed these are hella heavy compared to their fender equivalents. This generation of bass amps goes to fender for features, quality and especially weight. For a practice amp a fender rumble 40 works, rumble 200 or above for gigging. But do your research. Fender actually raised prices on their gigging amps as they were selling so well.

What does that mean, a 8" speaker and 10" speaker in the cabinet?

Shoot me a few model numbers. I want to buy once, own awesome. I well picked 8 x 10 (whatever the the that is) sounds like the winning ticket.
