Went to Singapore last year and loved it! Be sure to go for at least 4-5 days in order to get over the jet lag. We stayed only 5 days (en route to Australia) and could only make it out for the night life on the last night due to still catching up on sleep. However, between site seeing through different neighborhoods, the night safari, shopping and eating our way through food stalls, there was a lot to do. The "island resort" portion is very very meh. Beaches aren't great and to a bigger tourist trap than anything. Also, you need to stay in marina bay sands to check out the infinity pool (worth it) so stay for a night if you can afford it.

Man, such good deal. I'd go if my kids were little older.. ANA and JAL are both great. Love their Bento meals and hearty soups.

I also went to Singapore last year for a mileage run on United to get me up from United silver to Gold status from EWR, netting over 22,000 "PQM" miles for the trip (needed for the United status) - that can be done now for $582, even if you only want to spend one full day in Singapore (really need at least two). For about $100 more, you can route with an 8 hour layover in Narita, which allows you to take an airport sponsored free tour of the city including its big temple complex and sampling one of it's restaurants famous for eel. It is doable even leaving Thursday at 6pm arriving back on a Sunday.

As with Las Vegas, it is even more impressive than what you see in the movies (Crazy Rich Asians)!

You ain't lying! But, the flight attendants are easy on the eyes and manners. And they at least give the impression that they like their jobs. UA?! They don't give a flying squirrel...
