This was the only HG film I really liked. By the time the others rolled around, I just stopped caring. Good price on this.

Just a reminder that the digital copy doesn't port to movies anywhere (not yet at least)

The second one was just as good imo. 3 and 4 kind of ran out of steam. The exciting part of the series was the concept of being forced to fight for your life on an insane reality show... once the story stopped being about that, it's just another action movie. But I still enjoyed 3 and 4 since I wanted to see how the story wrapped up.

For anyone interested in all 4 movies, I'd recommend this Instawatch bundle [walmart.com] for for $27.

It includes instantly delivered digital copies to your Vudu account, then they ship the Blu-ray edition to you (which has an additional set of digital copies inside). It's not 4K, but I don't really care... I have a 4K TV and 4K content isn't worth the hype to me, it's hard to tell the difference between 4K and 1080p when I'm trying and impossible to tell when I'm just relaxing and watching a movie. And it's not like I'm half blind or something, I think a 144Hz monitor is a must have for gaming and can spot the difference between 144 and 240Hz (it's small but it's there).

Higher resolution seems to matter more in gaming, where you control the camera angle and where you're trying to see small objects in the distance and stuff like that. In movies, there's motion blur and parts of the screen that are intentionally out of focus, and other reasons that result in 1080p being perfectly good enough for movie watching (to me, anyway).

Does 4k make the lead actress less annoying?
Does the HDR make the short actor believable as a hero?
