I just bought this from amazon without the echo. Unfortunately they're refusing to price match/protect

This is the first gen ring right? I'm assuming the newest one is the best? Still good deal.

No it is not first gen. Ring, Ring 2, then this deal which is Ring Pro.

This is the Pro. The latest! NOT the 1st gen.

So I got this set the last time it was sold at 199.99

What I have noticed is that the bells that are being sold with these extenders/chimes have a less powerful wireless device built in.

Before u press the thumbs down... pay attention. I tried a couple of these ultimately had to replace just the bell with a separately sold ring pro. The second I change the bell it worked like a charm. The chime that you see photographed, is actually a Wi-Fi extender that need to be in close proximity of the bell.

I don't know what the probability is of getting a bad bell twice and having the same issue till a single packaged Bell was purchased and it worked perfectly. I would love to hear other people's experience if you installed is Bell a little away from your Wi-Fi router and had the same problem that we did.

I feel that this isn't much of a deal. Costco got the doorbell only for $200. Echo dot is between $20-30 at various times since New Years . Chime is $10.

Yeah this was a much better deal during last year's BF sales on Best Buy when it was $180 for the bundle. Using the Samsung Pay 30% cashback promo made it an insane deal. Think I ended up paying around < $100 after cashback lol.

I had been thinking about a Ring doorbell a few months ago when BB had this same deal, but lately I've been looking at their camera models for my entryway instead. If the standalone cams do motion detection, alerts, and two-way audio too (plus other things like more power/connectivity/mounting/lighting options), is there any advantage to the doorbell cams? Presumably a standalone camera over the door could serve all the same functions, no? Any existing Ring users want to "chime" in?

Google Ring pro battery... It DOES have a battery, it's non-servicable and will wear out and die in time - be sure to Google before you buy
