While the stock pads definitely are not great but unusable is a little out there and m40x is definitely not better.

I use the stock pads and have no issues on both my black and my white pairs of M50x headphones. So I guess to each their own... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Really good deal. I paid 170$ for just the headphones at guitar center many years ago.

Good deal, but do note that the M40X is considered to be the "better" of the two cause it has a neutral sound signature, while the M50X has a V shaped sound signature. Also, these things are almost unusable with the stock pads so you'll have to invest in some decent pads.

Sounds is great with good bass power. I'm not exactly and audiophile, but this headphone beats bose quiet comfort in terms of sound quality for my taste.

Bose quiet comfort does better in noise canceling department however.

I'm friends with an audiophile who runs a very successful studio. He tested mine out versus his listening pair he uses outside the studio. He liked his better, but not by much. And he paid about 10 times the amount I did.

uh where'd you get that from? experience or reviews? I've had the M50x for years now and they're great. I've also listened to the same song on the same device with the M50x and the M40x, M50x was hands down better.

I wish they gave just the headphones for a lower price instead of bundle

These headphones are great. I've owned a pair for almost 2 years now. Keep in mind however, that the leather ear cups do start to chip and fade with more use. That's the only one disappointment.

These are a very popular choice and some of the best sounding headphones at this price point. A good deal especially if you are in the market.

I like the headset. However, if you're a bass head, look elsewhere. I hated them at first, but grew to like them.
