Was in Walmart and noticed they had a couple of Sony KD65X750F's in the main aisle on clearance for $499. Looks to be about 50% off the normal price.

Looks like a good deal. Maybe call out the 65" size in the heading.

Android tv that pushes ads everywhere with no way to disable them?
considering the only tv brand names that still make their tv's, (or in vizio case makes sure they are made to their specifications)

Sony
Samsung
LG
Vizio

Samsung has ads, Sony has ads, Vizio is probably adding ads from recent news, which leaves LG as the only option

the ads on android (as of right now) I didn't even realize I was looking at an ad in the first place because it was just telling me to watch music videos or hey Starz app is a thing

Almost all the TVs you buy now are 60Hz native. Every single TV manufacturer advertises an artificial refresh rate, which doesn't mean anything. Actually, it can be negative to the viewing experience and you'll get a soap opera effect. 120Hz and 240Hz TVs are very hard to come by now a-days, especially at this price point.

This is so tempting for the basement....I know reviews aren't the best. Getting a Sony at this price can't be that bad though.

Some near me. Would it be worth upgrading from a 60 inch 1080p plasma?

Sell the 60 inch for $200-300 or more if you can... Then it'll be totally worth it.
