These are very solid headphones. The bass is great, very well built overall.

I got these when they came out and do not like them at all. Sound leaks, bass lacks and I have the xl cushions too. I believed the hype on VModa and wouldn't buy anything VModa again. I basically use them only for meetings with the headset attachment
I have the exact same experience.

Bought these a while back because of the last Slickdeals hype. Read the review and SDs "glowing" reviews and figured I needed a new pair of headphones to travel and work with.

First day, wanted to return these so bad. Ears will start to hurt after a few hours also the ear mold is very small, I was told to purchase an XL cushion. (Are you serious?) My head is small and ears are small but these things are made for someone with very very small ears.

Sound profile: BASS sucks. It is mainly highs and mids. Google these headphones and these are the major complaints as well. Small ear housing/cuffs, horrible bass and uncomfortable after a few hours. That's about it for the complaints, otherwise its ok. Not worth a bill.

Not a totally awful headphone but it's just as good as something half its price or spend a bit more and get the Sony Bluetooth ANC or a Bose (I'm talking about the older versions as well as new).
If I could I would return these asap. These are on my shelf. One of few SD hype let downs.

Bit tragic, 50mm drivers, no bass, no AAC/Apt-x
https://www.amazon.com/Headphones...017EGB5LU/ Others like the Archeer 40mm heavy bass, Apt-X, regularly go down to $25 on sale.....

If I didn't have V-Moda wired in pearl, I would jump on the gunmetal. Use them every day in subway for 3 hours and love them. Sound is good, not Sennheiser good but better than Beats while cheaper and much better looking - Italian design. I don't have Obama - sized ears, so original cushions are perfect, at least for 90 minutes at a time.

I'm in the same boat. I have the wired version as well and I listen for several hours a day. I did upgrade to the XL cushions and I'll say it made a huge difference in comfort. The cavity of the pad isn't so much that it's wider, it's that it is deeper and offers better sound isolation and comfort. It was well worth the purchase for me.

I think these are a prime example of how subjective sound is. They are absolutely not neutral, but they aren't marketed as monitors. And let's be honest, if you're looking for monitors, but you're using Bluetooth, then you're doing things wrong in the first place. I personally enjoy the sound signature on these, though I EQ down the bass a touch for my listening preferences.

People just need to keep in mind that sound is subjective. I think for $100 if you're looking for some nice looking headphones with a fun sound signature, these are a solid choice. Even better that they're wireless. If you're listening to flac music, or anything in a near studio level recording, you're probably going to want to pass on these. Again, though, if you're doing that you probably aren't listening to Bluetooth headphones in the first place.

Gen 2 went for a more neutral sound. These are more "fun", which means there's a decidedly stronger emphasis on bass, although they're not muddy sounding like Beats headphones. They're great for non classical music as well as video games and movies/tv.
I would say they're definitely muddy. Sound is not that great - ended up returning them. Really wanted wireless, but tried the wired version of these (better, but not quite there) - ended up with the M100's - night and day compared to these. Much rather have wired and good sound than the poor sound of these.

you'd have to have the ears of a four year old to have these fit them well... i'm better you don't realize how much more comfortable the upgraded cushions would be.

All the YouTube audiophiles, the 6 I watched, say these are heavier on the bass, slightly muddy on the highs with great mids , but not as bass driven or muddy as Beats. They also say when wired the sound is better and with the right set up, great. I don't know what the "right set up" means, but for someone who is not an audiophile, these should be pretty good. A few of them also mentioned a break in period of about 16 to 21 hours of listening time.

I have the original V Moda Crossfades (wired) and think they are the greatest sounding head phones I've ever purchased. I currently rock the Skull Candy Crusher wireless and love them. If these are close to the sound of the wired Crossfades, I'll give my Crushers to my brother.

Amazon will take them back if I don't like them; so, there is that safety net.

They're worth it just for their wired sound. And attach a boom pro to it and it's better than any gaming headset on the market.

Ignore anyone claiming these have no bass. They have tons. Perhaps too much at times, but V-Moda toned the bass down in the Crossfade 2 Wireless. The lack of APTX and AAC is really bad for the (original) price V-moda was charging.

Tried the V-MODA 100 and they were like vice grips on my ears, and since I wear glasses, it was just painful! Great sound though. I'd love to like these as they look and sound great, but they are just...painfully uncomfortable.

I bought these many years ago (2013). I love them, but they can be pretty tight for long term use. Very sturdy frame. Drops have no consequence. I don't really know the difference between my model and this so comfort may be improve. Deep bass. But not overly bassy which is good for music or watching movies as well as games. I use these strictly for the gym because I have a different more comfortable set for my pc rig. Would recommend. Price wise a much better deal than the bloated beats.
