Check it over if you get one. Beautiful guitar if you can get one that is not defective. Bought 1 at $199 deal-- Cracked all the way through center seam (manufacture date 2017) but beautiful and sounded great. Exchanged for 2nd T270PE (manufacture date 5-13-2016) which came cracked and also unplayable. Just returned today 4/11 and waiting for my third try. My question is Adorama, Will I get the $179 price?? now that it is reduced. And hopefully they all aren't cracked. Definitely not a shipping issue- Double boxing is in perfect shape. Hoping for one that is in good shape. Questioning where these guitars have been stored.

Wow, what a mess! I really want this guitar, and the price is great, but I am not sure I want the hassle. Are these coming from the same source or are they fulfilled from different sources? After two cracked guitars you think they would be throwing some giftcards at you or something.

I realize they aren't an actual musical instrument shop, so I'm wondering if the Vendor gives them some type of credit on shipping during defect returns as that cost would add up, shipping 2 or 3 replacements to a single customer.

I was lucky on the T270DCE I purchased and the guitar plays great so I went ahead and ordered this Parlor to add to my collection.

not sure what people are so up in arms about, this is a fantastic value for a guitar that is on the high quality spectrum for a china made instrument, I just got the slim line 100 auditorium and it is great for what it is, arrived in good quality with just a minor ding on the top. if ever the nylon string occitane came on sale, I'd absolutely double down on this.

Has anyone actually purchased this guitar and has it? If so, how do you like it? Do you have something to compare it to? I have a YAMAHA AC3R and i'm trying to decide if this guitar is different sounding enough to buy.

I bought one, haven't received yet but I own 4 other Parlors. I can tell you it will sound and play completely different than the AC3R. Being a Parlor, it won't be as loud or deep as grand concerts or dreadnoughts. Ideally they are more geared towards fingerstyle playing.

Definitely not "up in arms" and agree it is great value and nice guitar. Just hoping to get one that does not have a crack all the way through it and can be played. Surprised that BOTH of my first 2 had splits and we are not talking just cosmetic problems. Hopefully 3rd time will be the charm.

Thank you for the info. Is yours expected to arrive soon? I'd be interested to see how you like it

Got my T270DCE today, and it's glorious. Production date is right at 3 years ago, but I'm quite happy with the overall build and sound so the age doesn't seem to be a factor as much as the build and storage conditions.

I received mine today, has a production date of 3/2016. Did a check inside and out and found no noticeable defects. No structural damage to the bracing and no excess glue. I did have to add a little relief, but all in all, I'm very happy with this guitar. Like I've mentioned in other posts, I'm a big fan of open pore/satin acoustics.

I'll still need to lower the action a tad, nothing extreme.

The other thing I really really like about this guitar is that, while it has a Parlor body, the scale length is similar to a Dread. So, if you were looking to buy a Parlor for a shorter scale, you'll need to look at other brands/models.

Awesome thanks. I'm going to pull the trigger on it then.

YEAH! 270PE update: Finally got 3rd 270PE in and it's nice-- though I can't imagine it for $599. No cracks! Manuf. date of 5-2016- only 2 rusted strings and a couple of thumbprint size finish blemishes but it sounds and feels great - close enough for me after the other 2 major defect Lags. Adorama charged me the $199 price-not the current $179 price. The snakewood is so dramatic (see photos) and love the smooth open pore finish. Now I wish I had also gotten the 270DCE to match.
Thanks for all the support from SlickDeals forums.

ok finally ... glad you are happy with a good one in the end.

Just a small tip. These comes with EXP11 so the wound string are coated and will last a long time. The b/E plain steel strings are brass plated and will tarnish/rust just as quick as any plain steel unwound strings.
Cut a small piece of 600-800 Grit sand paper and wrap it around the b/E strings and go over it 10-15 passes up/down the length until it is smooth again. It will play like new again. Repeat when needed until you change strings. This will keep you playing a lot longer before you change strings (especially for Elixir users which last forever except the unwound strings).
Another options is to get some bulk unwound strings (.12/.13/.16/.17) online or from your local store and just change those when needed. These unwound plain steel are all the same (brass plated or not does not affect sound much). I have a bunch of extra plan steel but didn't have to use them since I started the sand paper routine above.

Cut out many pieces from your next torn tee instead of throwing into trash. Use those to rub strings after play each time.
