Review here - 24,000 firestrike graphics score which is about 20% more vs a mobile 2070:

Nice sale. I think spec wise I'm just a little bothered that they're isn't a tb3 connection considering that beast if a gpu can power a screen much nicer than the 1080 ips, recognizing the 3ms 144

You do have an HDMI 2.0 and mini display port both of which do not have the overhead required by the TB3 port.

2070 6g? Weird. Does the guy who pay 2500 to buy care about 8g?

HDMI is limited to 18Gbps and DisplayPort is limited to 17.28Gbps. Neither can support multiple 4k/60Hz monitors.

DisplayPort can support 40Gbps and multiple 4k/60Hz monitors. Also DP on USB-C can support Power Delivery up to 100W.

You are right that you can survive without TB3 on USBC, but at $2500, you shouldnt have to settle.

You guys are nuts spending money like this for a laptop.
I can see if the reviews were 100% positive all around, but based on what I'm seeing, this laptop is hit or miss; and for that kind of money, they can keep it.
All I hear about is how hot these newer i-series CPUs are, and how you need to undervolt them, etc.
Add a high-end video card like this into the mix along with a super thin frame and you're ASKING for trouble.
Can't imagine this thing lasting for more than a few months with heavy use.

If MSI laptops only lasted a few months, they wouldn't be in business anymore.

This sale has been around for ages. I almost jumped on it when it was $2400 but the sales taxes is still a bit brutal. Still a very nicely spec'd machine. The price may continue to drop when the 9750H version shows up which may be sooner than you think.

BTW Microcenter has the 2080 for $2400 the 2070 version should be $2000 if still in stock as these are old deals.

MC rocks! The Amazon deal has twice the NVMe storage which justifies the price difference.

Very much this. I don't get it. What's the point when you can't use a TB3 eGPU when this tech ends up depreciated? Also, what's the deal with no support for 3x NVME?

The MC deal had 2x512GB if you read between the specs I thought but I haven't looked in a while. Full 1TB NVMe's have been price dropping at least on Amazon. Btw the last I looked on Amazon you can get the 2070 version with 9750H for $2000! $2700 for 2080 with new cpu unfortunately.

It's a good in comparison to what other 2080 laptops sell for but I think the 2080 is too costly right now
