I wish these still had a key hole to still lock and unlock with a key if needed.

I have the YRD256 which is very similar but smaller. Touchscreen, no keyhole, battery backup, z-wave plus module. Connected to my Smartthings v2 hub for the past year. Still on original batteries, gets used several times a day.

If the deadbolt is not "turned" all the way, it won't report as locked so make sure your deadbolt is aligned correctly during installation. Never had connectivity issues with Smartthings.

I felt the same way but since I have other entry points (i.e. garage), I'm not terribly concerned. The interior has a mechanical deadbolt knob so you can physically unlock it from the inside. It does have 9V battery contacts on the bottom of mine which was a big deal when I bought it but realistically, I never have a 9V battery handy so I'd probably just go in through the garage.

Edit: Pic of mine. I got the Yale because I wanted the "hidden' touchscreen when off.

The bottom is a "dumb" Schlage keypad lever for normal use. This is the one we use everytime we enter/exit so we don't need to carry a key and can ensure it's always locked (have toddlers, also don't need anyone walking in uninvited).

The top is the "smart" Yale deadbolt for overnight or not at home for added security, plus I can automate it and get alerts.

If it doesn't have a keyhole, how do you unlock it if the battery is drained completely?

You connect a 9 volt battery to the contacts on the bottom.

I have the yrd246 paired with my smartthings, I have notifications set up for whomever unlock the door with their unique code. I only use the deadbolt so it's autolock after 1min. you can set 30s up to 3 mins. or disable it I can send my neighbor a tempt code if I need them to enter the house for whatever reason. works great so far.

this is a good deal.

The idea of not having a key hole is that a lock without it can't be picked. Super secure!

I have been in the market for zwave locks and I decided to go with with this. Especially when the smartthings hub is included at that price. I have been tired of my wink2 being offline. There is no idea if they will ever do any development on it anymore. I have seen smartthings community and they are pretty solid. My neighbor has ST and he is happy with it.
