Would any of these be suitable for sitting on while working on a car or gardening? I need something like that but which can fold up into something flat and easy to store. Not sure if 1 ft is high enough. Painter's buckets are around the right height but not as easy to store if you don't have a basement, garage or shed.

You usually want to be at 18" minimum for seating height. You can get away with 16" for working on a car because you'll usually be working lower. For gardening, you're working very low, so this might be ok.

I am looking for one too for the same purpose.. i think 12" height would be OK.. can be used to reach the top of the car without the anxiety of falling down since it is not that high.. 😄
