Woot is offerring the Expandable Powerblock set for $244.99.
Looks like these are the regular PowerBlock set but were initially branded as PowerBlock Elite.

First time poster, hope I did this right.

Woot also has the PowerBlock Personal Trainer Adjustable Dumbbell Set (Not Expandable) for $239.99

Warranty probably isn't as valuable as you may think. These things are heavy. So if you drop one of these 10 pound increments and it bends, you're probably better off trying to bend it back in shape than paying shipping to send something of that weight and shape to get them to honor the warranty.

Which is a fancy way of saying make sure these get placed on the floor gently, regardless of whether it's still under warranty coverage

Benches can be a picky thing. You can find a serviceable FID (Flat Incline Decline) bench for under $100 but it will come with its limitations such as low weight limit, low padding, shaky build quality and or questionable durability.

This one is your best bang for your buck @ $90, but don't count on it lasting many years with heavy use.

Bowflex 5.1 is a step up and sometimes can drop to sub $200.

This one is highly reviewed in the home gym world but it's also $320

I only want to buy the base 50 now but want to upgrade later. Can anyone confirm if the elite and the exp have different expansion kits, and if so which one do these use?

edit: looks like it's the powerblock exp. welp, hopefully o find another sale when I want to grab the 70-90 upgrades.

Powerblock cut their warranty period in half.

I'm confused. So the set isn't $109? What is it that you get for that amount.

will one of the three options here allow me to expand them to 50lbs per side?

The base set of weights only go from 5-50lbs, and is priced at $244. If you want to expand the weight to go higher (max weight 75lbs or 90lbs if you buy both expansion sets), you buy the expansion sets for $109 each. I don't think you can use the expansion sets without having the base set.

Is this a decent deal? It doesn't seem like a huge discount over new. Does anyone have an opinion to share on this?
