I have a 2nd Gen Fire TV (4k) thats working just fine. Anyone know if it's worth upgrading to this 4k stick? I think I saw a youtube video of someone doing a comparison of the two and found that the 2nd Gen Fire TV is just as fast, if not slightly faster, than this new 4k stick.

Would there be any other strong argument for the upgrade?
Not really, unless you want features like HDR, 4k 60fps and x265/hevc 10bit hardware decoding. The gpu is better on the 4k stick. A lot of my videos are x265 10bit and I don't want Plex to transcode them.

Be sure to use your favorite cashback shopping sites for 3-5% back on Amazon devices. Big Grin

I've been waiting for a sale to grab a new stick. I'm still using the 2nd gen Fire TV box. It handles IPTV, Kodi, Netflix, Hulu etc like a champ so it will be interesting to compare this stick to the 4 year old box. I've already got an ethernet adapter to give the 4K stick a fair comparison versus the built in Ethernet port on the gen 2 box. Loser will be an upgrade to the bedroom tv.

You probably watched the same video I did. He only explored Netflix (Last Chance U) and start ups etc. I'm curious as to how it handles IPTV streaming and Kodi. Also remember this doesn't have a ethernet port so that's an additional cost (optional but better experience) if you don't already have an adapter laying around.

I still in, loser goes in bedroom.

i tried to watch stuff on amazon on vpn . amazon detected i was on vpn or proxy
Only use the VPN for Kodi, an IPTV service etc. I've put myself in the U.K. using Netflix and watched some tv shows not available in the USA but have since just switched to an IPTV provider instead as I didn't want Netflix to ban me.

I submitted for trade an old first gen stick I received from a friend that I just registered to my account today. I was able to use the 20% and the $0.99 credit right away and have until the end of April to send the stick out.

Oh, and don't forget about top$back for an extra 8% cash back on Amazon devices.
Weird I submitted the trade yesterday and just tried and it will not give me the additional 20% off yet.

For Amazon trade in device, do we need to include original accessories like remote or can we give them generic cable and charger?

I already have a 1st gen Shield. Should I get this instead or just stick with the Shield? Would mostly use it with Kodi.

Mine did, but I just mailed my trade in yesterday.
I tried the trade. It shows $.99cents. Did they give the 20% off above that?

This has the latest processor. I have the pendent one which was released in 2017 and it stutters more than I'd like with DirectvNOW and Youtube TV. With this 4k one, I can go all day without any issues. And interface is faster. For a little more I think it's well worth it. Even if you don't use 4K. But you might soon you never know!

If you don't mind sharing, which IPTV service do you use?

It asks if accessories are including such as the remote. I just answered no and it's still 99 cents and includes the 20% off. It's just being sent out today so not sure what happens when they receive it though.
