ccc says this fluctuates between $100 and $170 so this is lower than Amazon ever has it.

As motorized home sharpeners go, these are excellent. Cooks Illustrated and Wire Cutter both have this as the top pick.

Great deal. Always wanted this since Cooks Illustrated recommended but could never pull the trigger for the price (CI always had the price in the 130ish range).

i have this. excellent. put the sharp back in my 30 yr old mac knives. almost as good as a whetstone, but way easier. i can spend 20-30 min each knife on the whetstone, or 1 min on this, and the edge comes out the same. i use the polish function a LOT.

good deal. It works really well on my German branded knives but not so well on shun VG10/sg2 steels. Does anyone have the same issue?

maybe it just seems like a more dramatic change on your german blades since they were probably 20deg to start with vs. 16 on the shuns? the diamond wheels should be significantly harder than any steel recipe so that really shouldn't make too much of a difference

Bought one of these from Amazon in December when they had them for $92, and I love it! All of my knives, my mom's knives, my brothers knives, any other knives I can get my hands on are super sharp, and it's so easy to use. For this price, I recommend to anyone who likes sharp knives.

Amazon has 1520 (both 15 and 20 degree option) for $169. This is no where a $210 as original price. If it's slightly a good deal, I agree. But not that good if you research on amazon on similar sharpener.

I have this one... really made my knives sharp!

My little knifes were too sharp... was cutting my finger when slicing/eating an apple. to "fix" I ran them through my old manual sharpener...now they're dull-ish enough so I don't cut my thumb all the time. Smilie
