Amazon is having a big storage sale so I think BH pricematched them.

If you're not joking, remember that glut comes and goes for different reasons. One of them is all the slickdealers buying their excess inventory and up goes the price. Or an earthquake. A volcano. A crazy president. A military takeover. So if you need it go for it. If you don't need it then wait until you need it. It sounds like you don't need it now.

Kind of a waste to put it in a PS4, IMO. The performance gain is marginal.

This SSD is as good as any other for a PS4. In terms of game load times, there is essentially no difference between this SanDisk and a Samsung 860 PRO for example. Or when comparing to a Samsung 970 PRO which has 6 or 7 times higher advertised read speeds, the difference is actually only like 1 or 2 seconds due to bottlenecking occuring in other system components.

I upgraded my ps4 internal hdd to SSD and it makes a difference for me. You do see faster loading times but the biggest thing for me was the lag in the ps4 UI. Since the install the UI has been buttery smooth.
