Cant get rid of Skype

424 56 April 15, 2019 at 05:44 AM
Use windows 10 on my desktop and avast
No recent changes
Never used or singed up for skype. But this morning had a skype icon in my taskbar and it showed I was signed in.

Cant get icon off of taskbar. Skype does not show in the task manager under startup. Or under add remove programs.

How did I get this and even signed in. Maybe a auto update attached by avast.

How can I get rid of.

Thanks for any help.

Skype is now owned by Microsoft. Maybe it came down in an update, don't know. If you are signed into Microsoft account on your Windows 10 pc, it is most like the Skype app version you have. If you go to the Windows start menu and right click on Skype, you should have the option to Uninstall.

Windows 10
Windows 10
Close Skype and make sure it isn't running in the background.

Tap or click on the Windows Start Button and type appwiz.cpl

Tap or click on the program to open a new window.

Hold down on, or right-click on Skype from the list and select either Remove or Uninstall.

Reboot your system and check the application has gone.
