Dell has a great price after factoring in the GC.

Also you can sign up to their rewards program (free) for an extra 3%-6% ($30-$60) in GCs.

Be aware the p series has local dimming that creates a lot of image artifacts. I ended up returning mine because of it

You must be doing some other math.

$1,000 *1.07 = $1,070 - 250 GC = $820

900*1.07 = $963

Only seeing a difference of $143 and that is saying the GC worth face value. Maybe you factored in some cash back or something else?
The OP has an option to get a secondary GC valued at $30-$60, so $180-$210 difference before tax if treated as cash.

It's getting to closeout time for the F1 series. I'll bet the price will be coming down without gift card hassles in the next few weeks.
Buy now from Dell with your Citi card and price match it later. Citi doesn't know about the e gift card from Dell.

What's the diff between this and the Quantum? Major diff with pic quality?
Biggest noticeable difference is brightness. PQ is vastly better in a lighted or bright room.

Either you didn't calibrate it per rtings guidelines or messed up some settings.
Instead of figuring out you returned

TCL 6 series here you can see why

In the lost in space watch the top of the screen between the lights as it pans. The dark pulsing shouldn't be there. It's much worse in real life than the video makes it out.

In the night scene from glow watch the lit up objects in the background. Again they should not pulse.

https://www.youtube.com/playlist?...8W_uX7ZrcL

Also the TCL actual goes entirely black (backlights go off) on a black screen the vizio just goes dark gray.

The vizio is better than the tcl in several areas like it has really good motion interpolation (at low settings it looked great with almost no soap opera effect) and more inputs but at the end of the day I can't go buying a local dimmimng set that had bad local dimmimng.

It's like buying a pickup truck with a bed that can't hold heavy things...

Nope.

Has nothing to do with calibration. Go over to avs forum you can see several people confirm it and the rtings page has mention if it now under local dimmimng.

I tried rtings settings as well as factory age played around with all the settings for almost 2 months. There are only 3 settings for local dimmimng and they all had the problem except for off. The fact this issue happens on the pq also really cements the fact this is how Vizio is intentionally doing local dimmimng.
Every local dimming set has blooming to some extent but Vizio has chosen an algorithm that pushes it to far and causes massive blooming in normal content, not just in credits and letter boxes.

If you have a p or pq you can check it for yourself easily I'm the opening scene of lost in space. Watch the lights at the top on the screen with local dimmimng on and then with it off.

I've been heavily into av or decades. I'm not making a simple mistake like that.

It's ironic in your desire to call me out for being wrong about the issue from ignorance about the subject you were actually wrong in your assumption due to ignorance of the subject.

Or you could just get it from Costco, Sam's or Best Buy for $899 and skip that GC BS.
At least it's not Mail In Rebate BS (*Ahem* Newegg)

Did you buy them new or used? How many hours a day did you run them? What models?

I also had the same experience. My Visio died as soon as the warranty expired. I only buy Vizio now. Waaaaaay better than that crap Visio makes, I promise!

Bwaha, yeah, Rtings isn't everything, but to be fair almost all review sites do favor the P series to the 6 series. Not all, but most...
