Lowes Craftsman VersaStack toolbox

I have been trying but failed to get any of the ToughSystem toolbox. Couple of days ago, I passed by Lowes and decide to check out the new VersaStack Craftsman toolbox. Now, I have seen reviews and I know you cannot compare ToughSystem with it especially if this is your trade.

I am just a DIY-er who needs stackable toolboxes mainly to organize my tools, and don't want to spend a fortune on these toolboxes as it can adds up quickly. Since I will just put them in my storage, the Craftsman VersaStack turns out to be a surprisingly affordable option.

What I did was getting four of the open totes for $12.98 each and a 2-drawer parts toolbox for $25.98 while they are on sale for >20% off. This adds up to $77.9 before tax.

You can stack all of them up and this system offers a lot of space to store and organize your tools. Of course, mix and match anyway you like. I opted for the open tote instead of the lockable toolbox as the lockable costs $9 (or 75%) more than the open tote. The open tote contains what they call inner vertical storage, like pockets that you can organize screwdrivers, wrenches etc.

Lockable link is below.

The sale will go on till 4/30, go to the store to check them out for yourself.

Just an FYI...these are compatible with the Dewalt T-Stak as well (Although the Craftsman are actually slightly nicer with some updates and gasketing), so if you need to add and don't mind a bit of mismatching, you can pick and choose based on cost or availability.

Thanks, I have looked at T-Stak and I will certainly keep that in mind for sure. Thank you.

Yeah, I'm debating now if I should keep the Dewalt ToughSystem cases I was able to scoop up from the HD deals. Looks like the wheeling carrier is pretty expensive (although I can probably do without it and just stack what I have on the floor since I probably won't be moving it around too much). I probably don't need more than what I already got (DS150 and DS400) but if I ever do want to get other ones they will be a good chunk of money.

I'm just a home DIYer too and was just looking to have something to store and organize what I have in the garage. I know it's not the same quality (like you mentioned) but i think I'll swing by a local Lowe's and checkout the quality on these an check them out. Since I son't be beating them up daily they might not be that bad for my needs (although the Dewalt ones I did get were a hell of a deal for what they are, will need to think about it).

Thanks for the post.

these look cool. i do have a garage with ample space on the side so i still plan on getting even a budget mechanic tool chest/cabinet to store organize my tools. but something like this is nice to carry on the go. But for those with space constraints this is a nice way to organize without the full on cabinet

I have two of the 2 drawers stacked to hold router bits. I've had them since December and they've been a dream in the workshop. I've read a complaint or two about the drawers but mine are smooth as butter.

They should be since Stanley owns the Craftsman brand now.

Hi, since the whole VersaStack is 20%+ off, I have added 20% off to the title if that helps. Let me know if you think a different title is more helpful for others. Thanks.

Edit: Oh well, think the higher power changed the title back.

I have to go to Lowe's to pick up some mulch today and my local Lowe's shows this item in stock currently. I'll swing by and check it out. Thanks for the link.

I have the wheeled set and the 2 drawer box. I just moved into my first house so I just started putting together my first tool set. The bottom box is large enough to hold 5+ power tools (drill, impact driver, impact wrench, circular saw, reciprocating saw without blade, couple of batteries). I got the 2 drawer box to hold tools that I will use more often since it's easier pulling out drawers vs unlatching a box and digging around for the tool you need.
