Old price was $289 but I just walked into my local Costco (Schaumburg, IL) and they had 3 sitting on the shelf marked down to $225. There are 2 left at the Schaumburg store.

Incredible deal if you can get it. I paid $329 and it's stellar...no regrets.

Price ending with zero is returned item. So, price is store specific

This was on the bottom shelf in another island next to the ones for $399.

Not true. Talked to the girl running electronics department. This is the old box from Netgear. Apparently the new box comes with a free year of Netgear Armor. They're trying to get rid of this old stock so they marked it down to move it. More cost effective to mark down and sell than ship back she said. Definitely not a return.

Asterisk in the top right corner of the price sign is clearance/not being restocked. The box in the pic looks ripped and taped, so likely a return.

It's not. Corners are worn out but nothing is ripped and everything is brand new.

regardless all .00 and .97 pricing form Costco is YMMV and up to that individual store. Likely hood is low of the same pricing in another store.

So I purchased this from the Torrance store for 289 last week. I called them just now and they say they only have one left and it's still selling for the same price.

I called the Schaumburg store that you went to see what price is in their system - they also said their computer shows it at 289.

So either:
1. The price was so recently dropped to 225 that it doesn't show up in their computer system
2. As, arribasn says, different stores sell at different prices.

The reason I'm concerned about all this is that in order to get a price adjustment I need to go to a store with the item still in stock and obviously selling at 225.

Correct, it rang up as $289 at the register also. Cashier had to call over a manager to adjust the price. But as you can see in the picture, they dropped the price to $225. Try going back into the store you purchased it and see if they have more in stock. Or check stores in your area that have them in stock and see if they dropped the price also.

I picked one up in NY for $199. Called ahead to make sure they had them in stock. Two were buried behind a Netgear Nighthawk display. One was all taped up and the box was pretty beaten up. I asked the manager to check on the price. System showed it at $289. His discretion dropped it to $199. I asked if I could buy both, but he laughed and said no. So I bought the clean one. Thanks OP!

Lol, I agree with you, even with the beat up and taped box, I would have gotten both if they were $199 each.
