There are fake cards that will read the correct capacity but will not actually store that much

Is Amazon still a counterfeit risk (mixing various sources of the same SD cards in their warehouse)?
Make sure the seller is Samsung when buying from amazon...

This always has been this price. Unless you're promoting this over the SanDisks 🙄

You can use tools like h2test to confirm capacity

Amazon itself as a seller actually is probably better

It is my understanding that the real ones say made in Korea and the fake 1s say made in Vietnam or some other country.

You can find programs that will test it by writing into it to find its max capacity. sometimes you can also tell by the capacity shown on windows(exp fake 64gb cards will say 64gb free space, real 1s will say 59gb or so)
I use h2testw.exe for that

Can you really tell the fake from the real ones though?
it is easy to tell the fake from the real with software like H2TESTW. It will tell you the true capacity, read/write speeds and if any sectors are bad

not bad deal. I'm used to 64 around $15 and 128 around $25. And this is a name brand.

Might get one just to throw a bunch of movies at for my tablet or rpii (with microsd adapter). Or maybe a huge retropie image or something

edit - just checked my order history and I bought a 64gb sandisk for $12... so $20 for double isn't bad at all. And it comes with some sort of adapter (microsd to SD I assume... if it's a USB adapter I would be shocked)

I am super happy these cards have come down in price while performance kicked up a little. I bought the sandisk 256gb card off of here the other day for $30 (amazon deal of the day). This samsung in this post should be faster than what I bought, but it depends on your "use case" for what should be important to you.
SPEED should be important if you move a ton of data quickly like a high res camera.
ENDURANCE would be important if you constantly write data over and over again like dash cam exposed to hot car.
PRICE would be important if you just need basic performance with the best price for storage amount

I went with price because I was just using it with my nvidia shield tv. I stuck close to 100gb worth of umd rips from my psp, and like 30gb of various other roms plus there is still room for apps and music. If you are only going to write to it once then you only have to muddle through a slow write session once. I really hope capacities keep going up while prices get better!
