I think the premium price is due to the 256GB M.2 PCIe NVMe.
For a $30 (max) item?

Very nice price on a decently spec'd 8th gen i5 with nvme ssd. A pro license upgrade is only 60 bucks and a 3 year warranty is only 80 bucks more. The batteries on these are integrated and if the battery doesn't hold its charge, it'll have a different warranty than for the rest of the laptop hardware.
Psssssssssssttttt.... Just get a Windows 7 pro Key and you don't need to waste the 60 bucks. Smilie

They can be had for like 5 dollars on ebay.

All inspiron lineup has only 42WHr battery. Should have increased it to at least 55WHr and removed the HDD space.

Fortnite can be played on a PS4, Xbox One, Switch, iPad and you'd save money instead of having to buy a $600 computer just to play Fortnite.
Agree, go to a pawn shop and get a heavily discount video game console.

Note for others considering this advice: Fortnite on the XBox one requires an XBox Live subscription. Fortnite on the PS4 does not require an additional service fee. I'm fairly sure the iPad doesn't, and I don't know about the Switch.

Seems like a good deal to me. I just jumped on it. Been looking for something that can handle some light video editing and gaming that's not a bulky gaming laptop. I think the specs should handle what I need it for, especially after I add some RAM.

I didn't say that it was a fair upcharge.

*Electronic companies are infamous for raising prices for a gimmick.
The cost of manufacturing 65" Vs 75" TVs is $200 ~ $300 but they have been charging an additional $1K.

Would this be good for Fortnite?
CSGO?

My son keeps bugging about getting a new computer since the latest update last week.

He can run fortnite no more, then again he's been using the family laptop.

He keeps saying the FPS is like 30-50.
If the game is running at those FPS then thats good enough. The kid just wants his own gaming laptop lol

This seems like a better deal no? Slightly slower processor but 2 in 1 touchscreen.

Looks like a downgraded graphics card and no ethernet on the one from Costco as well.

This is a great laptop and I bought it last time it was on sale for $565. However, I ended up returning it after 2 days of usage. The main concern for me was the way the chassis is constructed. While I don't expect it to be unibody the metal in seams where keypad area combines with bottom is sharp and there are gaps that look aesthetically unpleasing. Maybe I got a defective unit
