The new 11-inch iPad Pro features an advanced Liquid Retina display that goes edge to edge.¹ Face ID, so you can securely unlock iPad Pro, log in to apps, and pay with just a glance. The A12X Bionic chip is faster than many PC laptops and easily runs pro apps. All-day battery life.³ Wi-Fi. Over a million apps available on the App Store, including augmented reality experiences. And the new Apple Pencil and Smart Keyboard Folio help you be even more creative and productive.² It will make you rethink what iPad is capable of - and what a computer is capable of.

Anyone take advantage of the BBY trade in offer? Got an email saying that you can get the new iPad Pro 11 for $550 with trade in of any iPad Pro. In the disclaimer, it sounds likes it's based on the price of the new iPad being $799, and the trade in value being $250. Has anyone done it who can confirm that it's actually $250? Or is the value lessened to still match the $550 pricing?

Me too. I think I need 256 GB in order to pull the trigger. I can use it for my work (self-employed) but I'm waiting for a price drop.
The 256 GB is on sale too, selling for $799.99 with $150 cut!

Not a good price. Since last year in Nov. there has been deals on this on for $667 with no tax for most. In addition, the structure is terrible. Mine bent and crashed in my backpack in 10 days.
I've had mine in a backpack with a few books, a MacBook, and a few other things, and it has zero bend. Looks as good as new. This bending crap is so overblown!

I can't find the link right now, but apparently the 2017 model is a much better bang for the buck and even has some benefits.

Also, there's this, which more people should watch 10-20 videos....

No one should be buying apple, let alone paying their over inflated prices so Tiny Tim can buy more vacation homes...
Not even cheaper ipads like the 2018 ipad that goes periodically for $250?

As a dirty android kid, Im tired of supporting the tablet platform. People say "oh samsungs are just as much as the ipads", so here I am starting to look at getting an ipad..

Can someone legitimately tell me where the sweet spot is with apple where its competitive to the tab S4 or the S5e at about the same price point? There are too many ipad versions and annual releases that its impossible for a noob to figure it out.

And why do we have to add 100 dollars to put an extra 5 bucks of flash memory in there and make it a functional tablet?
Haven't read thru the whole thread, but I think the sweet spot is the 2017 ipad pro 10.5. It's got the quad STEREO speakers (which make it WAY WAY better than the base ipad), promotion screen, 1st Gen pencil support, and the GPU is better than the new base ipad and ipad air. It'll be supported with firmware/software updates for only 3 more years (longer than a new android), but that's really the only downside. I guess you could consider no Face ID a downside but I'll let you decide.

They were $449 at Microcenter LINK a week ago and sold out fast, so apparently I'm not the only one that thinks this.

Bought the new air but really missed the speakers and the refresh rate on wife's pro, going to return and get this. Thanks
The refresh rate is surprisingly satisfying. Kind of annoyed the Mini 5 doesn't have it.

They tried to position these for business folks. But the software is mostly the same and really not enough for a pro machine. Business folks can never use this as primary productivity machine
This isn't 2011.

The full Office suite is available and includes 99% of what "business folk" need. Our company deploys tens of thousands of these. Way cheaper than the Dells we had before with longer battery life and lasts longer.

ive had every Ipsd from the beginning. I bought the first model of the Pro. About 4 months after I bought. I did an update when I went to bed. The next morning, I went to use it and the screen was black. I thought I had let the battery die. I charged again same thing. I noticed in a dark room that it was on. I could hear sounds. I thought maybe the darkness slider got turned down. Nope. I started googling this and kept coming back to the Black Screen of Death. I tried everything that was suggested. Well I thought, make an appointment with a Genius. I go in he looks at it and takes it back to a tech. He comes out and says they will replace it but they are out of stock. They will call when they get back in. Week goes by and no call. I call in and they have them in stock. I go in the guy looks at it for five minutes and goes and gets a new refurb one. He hands it to me and says that will be $460. I'm stunned. I said a week ago it was free. He stated that you have a small nick on the metal edge. I said so what. He says ANY physical damage negates the warranty. I was pissed. I said guy get on the internet. Google Black Screen of Death and you will notice that The Pro is having a problem with this. He says $460 because your IPad has massive physical damage. The nick was less than 1/16 of an inch. It's no more then a small speck. You know I have bought Apple from the beginning. I now have an S8+ and now a Tab S4. Wow you can actually send email all the time without not finding your server. The internet actually works without redrawing every other page. Thanks Apple you pushed a customer away with your flippant arrogance and lack of care for your customers. I know I'll be attacked by the fan boys but read up on the Black Screen of Death on google.

It would still be interesting to see what they would do in-store. The 11" 256GB is on sale for $799. Would they take the $250 trade in off of that? That wouldn't be a bad deal (assuming you have an older iPad Pro to trade in).

Still too rich for my blood.

Sure, the 2017 iPad Pro 10.5 is still a good deal but I wouldn't want to deal with the white spot issue that seems to be more widespread than I even thought.

If you were to ask me, the current iPad Air is the sweet spot in the lineup right now. You get the same keyboard but the cover can store the keyboard for when you just want to watch something. Quad-speakers don't mean that much to me on a device this small (if I care about audio on my iPad I'm already using headphones). No ProMotion (not that big of a deal on an iPad) but has every other great display feature (laminated, True Tone, etc.)

I've been shopping for a laptop replacement and I think I've just talked myself into getting the 2019 Air for myself.
