LG OLED C8 55 w/3 Yr Squaretrade @ Costco YMMV $1499.97

I picked up a LG OLED C8 55 inch from Costco for $1499.97.

The deal included 3 Year Warranty from Square Trade (for a final credit of $100.00).

The store associate said prices ending in .97 are clearance items so YMMV.

Its higher than some other places, however, if using Costco Citi, in effect you get 7 years coverage so decided to go with it.

Lame. This TV has been as low as 1k with no tax. I dont see why any one should pay 1500 plus tax on a 2018 model.

I think only the b8 has been under 1k. But youre right. Not a good deal

Did they have a 65 incher? I still think it's a good deal considering you're getting 7 years warranty!

I didn't see the 65 in the store I was in.

This deal only makes sense if you are interested in buying from Costco or other b and m store. The C8 is discountinued and price for leftover stock is now going to rise. The C9 is going to be $100s more for sometime.

Yes. If you only want the c8 and its from a b&m store and you really want the 7 year warranty then its a decent deal. Otherwise the b8 for under 1k is a much better deal. B8 was 600+ less because of taxes with costco.

A 65 inch b8 is cheaper. Think about it that way.

Yes, those are the primary reasons for getting it. I needed the 55 for where I was going to put it. Because I have the 65 and 77 C8 I wanted to stick with the C8 for 55 as well. I know I could have gotten the B8 for far less but this set will get a lot of use so the 7 year warranty was important to me

Costco in Florence, KY has this same TV for $1200.00, but no extended warranty inluded in the price. Of course, one may still add it for $99. I am wondering myself if there is any more room for price to go down, albeit there were only 3 TVs left instore.

Do you have a picture of that price? That is an amazing price for this TV at Costco. If you have a picture can you please share, May try to price match at my Cotsco.

I will take a picture of my receipt for you later today. Problem is that every Costco store has its own pricing policy and they do not do any pricematching to another Costco (unless it is online price too). They do pricematch to their own store if price drops lower. I picked one up with square trade warranty for ~$1370 out the door. They still have 2 new ones in boxes and 1 on display as of today. I am really hoping that they will drop the price another $100 or $200 so that I could get pricematch.

But here is a million dollar question. Yes, C9 (2019 model) is sold at Costco for ~$2500 before taxes. The major difference between C8 and C9 seems to be second generation alpha 9 processor and HDMI 2.1. I do not think that warrants double the price for C9, but it will go down in price and will probably be available later thsi year for around $1800 or so. Second generation alpha 9 processor does not seem to introduce major improvements over alpha 9 found in C8 sets, but HDMI 2.1 kinda makes it more future-proof. I still have mine C8 unopened in the box, but really leaning towards keeping it anyways even if it lacks HDMi 2.1. Of course, I am eagerly/patiently waiting possibly for another slight price drop then it would be a no-brainer to keep C8.

Then again it would really be awesome if this was for a 65" OLED TV. Am I going to regret not waiting/looking for 65" OLED TV and settling down for a 55"? Yes, I am not paying a full price for it, but 10" is 10"... LMAO Oh, decisions, decisions...

At the price you got it, it's already a no brainer. But it's never low enough. That's what I was hoping that I pick up and the price drops in a few days. Unfortunately, I stopped at the store today and it was still the same price and they only had two left compared to six when I picked mine. I am going to keep mine even if I overpaid a bit. I doubt C8 will drop any further since inventory seems low.

Sorry for a little late reply, but here is a picture of the price tag at my local Costco. Hope this helps you.
