Would anyone prefer a Denon AVR-x1500h to this? It's the same price currently for a refurb. Channels, power, features and warranty look about the same. Ease of use any better with one or the other?

Anyone have hdmi issue with this?
Yes, I do. I hooked it up with the pioneer speaker bundle that pops up here once in a while. I used hdmi ( arc ) and it worked for a week and then it just stopped working, I ordered an optical out cable but it doesn't work either. I just don't want to go through the return hassle. I should've listened to my fellow slick dealers who advised me to get a Yamaha instead. Lesson learned. Just FYI.

Hi, I got the Vsx-1131 receiver (which I think is very similar to this one) a couple of months ago and have a few questions about its operation. I'm a total noob and this is the first AVR I've used.

1. Every time I change channels, or scroll through videos in Youtube or Netflix, etc. it makes an annoying, high-pitched, loud click(depending on set volume, which I keep between -30 and -20 dB mostly). Is this normal? The AVR is connected to Samsung smart tv (UN55KU6500) through HDMI-ARC (with CEC enabled). I'm having to mute it or reduce volume to very low level to not hear it.

2. About 20-30 seconds after I switch off the TV using the TV remote (which also automatically turns off the AVR), the receiver comes on back up again for about a minute and then turns off. Why is it doing it?

Thanks to anyone who might have any suggestions on this.

Edit: I always have it set to "dolby surround sound" mode. (Not that it makes any difference)

I have the SC-1522 which is a class D3 amp. I don't know know if this one has the d3 efficiency or not.

I love the 165w headline new egg is using . That's 1 channel . It's really an 80wper channel receiver. No thanks

Noob here. Can someone explain use of a receiver?

Instead of plugging audio out from tv into a speaker system, we plugin to Receiver? Then from receicer to speaker system?

What is the big deal about inserting a receiver?
