Old people 70 and over have no idea what Bluetooth means. To us it's after we eat berries. We want SIMPLE! On my 2016 CRV I have bluetooth/pandora/somethin about a phone and a dozen other things. Since I've had it....am/fm is all I've used. I want simple...
I have had a trac-phone since 2007....I've got one call. I turn the phone on only when I call which is maybe once a week. When I go into Walmart/Kohls/Penneys and Speedway....the phone stays in the car. SIMPLE (After all these years...I have no idea of my cell phone #)
Hmmmm 🤔 so why are you looking and posting in 7.2 surround sound receiver thread? Your situation does not seem relevant to this.

How does this compare to something like the Onkyo 686/585? Specially given that they usually go for around the same price range (~300) and not Onkyo's list msrp of ~500

Noob here. If I have 5.1 would this receiver handle it properly?
Yes it will.

Just wanted to give you thoughts from the Seniors. Maybe one of 20 is still into music/Concerts. Most think Jethro Tull is that tall/goofy guy on Beverly Hillbillys! I got mine for one reason...SIMPLE!

I chose Onkyo 686 because of its two HDMI output. This helps me to eliminate the need of an external HDMI switch. NR686 also has higher power output. But VSX-933 supports 4K Upscaling. Other than that, these two are very similar.

Wish I had the disposable $$$ for this deal. I found an old Denon receiver with 1080p support at a Goodwill for $60, mainly to enhance my headphones' experiences. I'll settle for now Stick Out Tongue

Don't even compare that Onkyo to the almighty hero.

Bought this and just hooked it up yesterday. Super easy to setup and Dolby setup was a breeze. Using only a 5.1 setup but my house pumps now! No issues whatsoever. For $250 this is a steal.
