Most of the Like New are returns or never opened but damage boxes. So it is really not used but amazon cannot sell damage/open boxes and returns so they list them as used.

Used is just "returned". You really have no idea why -- it could be entirely unopened and unused. I've yet to get an Amazon Warehouse item that was broken or not in the stated condition.

Either way, it's Amazon. If it is broken in any way, send it back. And if it's something where you couldn't ever possibly handle a delay due to returning, then pay the extra money for new.

Not getting the deal from the link. Is there a code, or has this expired possibly?

Thanks for the tip on the warehouse sale. I ended up getting a warehouse cable modem. Everything was as described: new but manual missing. Had the tech come in today to do the install and he said the mac address was previously activated. I knew that was a risk for modem returns. But he called it in and it got activated under my service. Question I have is are there any security risks with used modems? Doesnt appear the case was opened (no wear on the screw and the label that was affixed across both case halves doesnt appear folded. The MAC address is also on the outside of the box, so anyone can copy a mac address anytime they wanted. Pardon my ignorance on this, and I appreciate any thoughts. Thanks!
