It really does. Start upstairs work your way down. I use an old cup and a wooden spoon I only use for chemicals. Open window. Wear gloves and glasses. Hold your breath. Stir as you pour. Run. Wait. Done.

Won't this eat through plastic pipes, especially at glued joints?

It won't affect plastic since it comes in a plastic bottle, unless you somehow really heat up the water to such a degree, such as by pouring boiling water and having it stagnate there because this stuff causes an exothermic (heat releasing) reaction on its own.

On that note, I added boiling water to my clogged toilet and didn't have an issue. It didn't work for my toilet because it's a piece of tough paper (not TP- don't ask) stuck deep in there and this possibly had trouble getting around the bend.

It worked great for my sink with just a small amount though - great for hair, scum, toilet paper. I simply ran hot water from the faucet itself, poured some beads direct from the bottle and then ran some more water. Instant results.

That bathroom didn't have a window though so I left the exhaust fan on with door closed all day - now my exhaust fan is dying! 😂 Never ending curse of replacing/ repairing stuff.

Good luck.

Got some during one of the last sales. Really seemed to improve my bathroom sink.

You can't get a bottle of Draino or equivalent near me for $6, and those are only good for 1 or 2 uses (and have never worked well for me).

This looks like it will work more than twice. This may be regular price, but it may still be a good buy.

I bought the product in Nov 2018 and it was $5.60 everyday price.... So this is a price increase - new EVERYDAY price is now $5.80

As long as it says it's 100% lye it should be fine for making soap granted you can pick it up 100% lye cheaper at Ace hardware if you have one around you. I usually pay around 3.50 a pound for 100% lye at Ace hardware. Also if you were buying in bulk I think I saw a deal for 37 lb for around $2.50 a pound. That was also food-grade lye shipped.
