Can you even overclock on B360 MB? I thought K series only overclocks on Z370 and Z390 MBs.
You are correct, they do not technically support it, no.

I got one from Cyberpower a few years back. The inside configuration was so tight that it was impossible to even add a new SSD. There was no room to use any tool or even your finger. Clearly no one tested trying to put one in.

Not sure if this is still the case.

I saw this deal on newegg before it was posted on Slickdeals.
Seemed like a decent deal because it also includes 2 free games worth $120.
  • Intel Gaming Bundle - Call of Duty
  • NVIDIA Gift - RTX Triple Threat Bundle - Pick One - Get Anthem, Battlefield V, or Metro Exodus
I bought one but haven't received it yet. I'm wondering I could have built a custom PC for that much money. Is this a good deal?

If it has the B360 Mb, and you don't plan on overclocking, its ok. If you want to overclock, it's not .

If you live near microcenter, they will occasionally have an open box powerspec i9700k, system for $800. You can drop an rx2700 in it for 450. It has a z390 mb but it's a low end mb. So even with that mb, you can probably can't get too much past 5100.

Gonna run super hot with default air cooler. Forget overclocking on that mobo too; at least any decent overclock.
I know this is an old thread but maybe im the exception. My 9700k never goes over 70c with a hyper 212 cooler. My case is a fractal meshify c with 2 140mm fans in front and one 120 up top and a rear 120mm. Gpu is 2080ti. And thats playing any game even in VR. This cpu runs way cooler than my previous 6600k using the same cooler.

edit. i quoted the wrong post. meant the quote the one saying the 9700k needs a aio cooler

Lololol. No, hyper212 is a good air cooler. Whoever said you NEED an AIO is insane.

Agreed. Aio is cool to say you have and looks cool. But is overkill for a 9700k. And definitely not worth the risks. But im also not overclocking ( dont see a need to with this setup)

Ehhh, I've had an h100i in my system for 4 years, zero issues lol. AIOs should be mostly safe, unless there is a major defect that passed QC, and that's rare. Custom loops are a different story though 😂
