which one is better? 1080p model or 4K for an extra $20?
4K is not 4K. It's interpolated 1080p. So, no effective difference.

It was placed there by SD, so it's advertising. A shill is a member getting paid under the table by a manufacturer.

You were using the wrong SD card. You need endurance card. User error.
While yes, you SHOULD use an "endurance" card, for the short amount of time he had been using it doesn't seem likely that is the issue . I have an Aukey DR01 and have been using it for 2+ years with a standard 64GB Samsung EVO card with no issues. YMMV. I do have a 64GB endurance card ready to go if/when the current standard card fails though.

Even with an outlet, climbing into the back every time you drive to turn the damned thing on and off.
They usually turn on automatically once they receive power. I look at it this way, sure 2x standard dashcams might be a little bit cheaper than a dual cam setup, but then you need 2x SD cards so that really negates any savings if not possibly costing more. If you want to copy the files from the rear cam then yea you gotta climb in the rear to get the SD card. Then you have to locate a power source in the rear if you don't have an outlet in the rear.

That works only with switched outlets. Many are "always-on."

Not should, its required. It is not compatible with non-endurance cards. Read manual.
Care to point out where is says it's not compatible with non-endurance cards?

I bought the DR02 last time this was on slickdeals (about 1 month ago), and I also bought the Aukey $20 'motion censored' power supply (powered by your OBD port instead of car cig-lighter)…..

WORTH, EVERY, PENNY.....and more.

The cam is on 100% all the time while your driving and the key is in ignition….but once you turn the car off, it goes into 'motion sensor' mode and the cam only turns on when motion is detected (9ft radius from the sensor). Its perfect when you park and you're fearful of someone dinging your car or messing with it while your away.....

That's true, didn't take that into consideration. Just another reason why putting a 2nd dashcam back there is less appealing in my opinion.

I have the DR02 and used a non-endurance card. It worked for 2 weeks... I then purchased an endurance card as recommended by their cust service dept. and it's been flawless for almost 2 years

I don't see much difference between the DR01 and DR02, other than a 30° larger camera angle? Does that make the DR02 worth it?
