I have the DR02 and used a non-endurance card. It worked for 2 weeks... I then purchased an endurance card as recommended by their cust service dept. and it's been flawless for almost 2 years
And I have my own anecdotal data that a non-endurance card works fine for 2+ years too. My point was it's NOT in the manual as he/she stated.

For what it's worth, I saw a video on the subreddit Dashcams that was taken by an Aukey... Think it was $70 or so. It looked like decent quality (especially for a company like this), but couldn't read the license plate. I suppose you can make do by reading it out loud while it's recording, and take pictures with your phone if an accident happens, but not ideal at all obviously

At what point will car manufacturers like Subaru, which already have stereoscopic front facing "EyeSight" cameras and rear parking cameras integrate this into their vehicles? All you need to do is put a DVR into the head unit and record the feed from the cameras...

Anyone have experience with the DRA1? Thinking about pairing it with the motion detection kit and don't feel like the added expense of the DR02.

Is there app for this to download on smartphone
No app needed since it's not wireless. To transfer files, plug the SD card into your computer or phone.

I have the DR02 and it is awesome. I paired it with this $20 Motion sensor which is now the best combo:
$20 https://www.amazon.com/AUKEY-Hard...way&sr=8-3
My only issue with that is there is no power switch.

I use this (power only; not a motion sensor) to turn the thing off while parked at home or for many days like at an airport: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product...UTF8&psc=1

Why would you want to turn it off? The whole purpose is to keep it on all the time in case of an incident, especially if you are parking your car at an airport. That is why there is no power button, it is not needed.

Because either of these power units will drain your battery to below 12 volts after 2 or 3 days and potentially kill it, requiring a jump start. The camera is not "instant on" unlike battery units, so it is always drawing some power when plugged in and turned on.
