it extends the wifi range. That's why it's called Wifi range extender.

so if you have the main wifi router in the master bedroom, and your kids who live downstairs can't get the wifi signal. you put this in the middle where it can get and transmit the signal to both locations.

I have never found one that has worked well. If they work at all; speed is significantly slower! My suggestion if you have WI-FI a dead spots is to invest in a WI-FI MESH Network from one of the hardware providers. Netgear, Linksys and many others make them and for the most part provided much better range and actually work.

Totally agree. Wifi extenders blow.

I bought similar one( Built-In Smart Plug) from Amazon when it was on sale for $20.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product...UTF8&psc=1

Smart Plug function works well and it can easily reach over 100Mbps download speed based on google fiber speed test.

With built-in smart plug, I can turn on/off the smart plug and Wifi extension through Google home and Amazon Alexa.

Though currently it's $24 on amazon.
But I would suggest pay $4 more to get built-in smart plug so You can save power and save the earth....

Looks like this one doesn't have smart plug function though...

I agree, but mesh working isn't just a little more. It's extremely expensive. It's hard to find anything decent for less than $150-200.
