My only question is if Joe Jackson was shoeless, why didn't the Jackson kids run away from his beatings?

I went ahead and purchased it. For those wondering, it does seem to be 4k and HDR10. I do not set the apple TV to upscale either. The transfer is decent but like all movies, the picture will only be as good as the source material. All in all, compared to the blu ray, there isn't much of a noticeable step up, even with HDR as it's just not type of movie. If you already have a version of this, I would say hold off. But if you don't have the film, $4.99 is good. I don't know if there will be a better version that will be used by Apple when the 4k UHD Bluray releases in May and doubt there would be but I hope there is.

Watched this originally with my Mom and Dad when it came out. Watched it last Summer with my kids. Completely different feels.

You could apply that same idea to countless ignorant comments and lazy questions on SD. One can only dream that someday a pocketable, mass-market device will be developed with always-on, instant access to Google and the rest of the internet.
Wait, Ansel Adams took 24MP pics like 100 years ago? But how tho?!!

That's because you can buy it in 4K now for $5 but it can't be streamed in 4K until after the release next month I believe. Or at least that's what Fandango is doing it appears. You didn't watch it in 4K. :-) I know this because I watched it yesterday on my OLED and noticed it said that I have the 4K version but 4K wasn't available to be streamed yet (this was on Movies Anywhere purchased through Fandango).
That could be the case and would make sense but I do get the HDR notification on my TV so I dunno.

Bought the 4k version. Now I can see myself better (was in the final helicopter shot of the long line of cars about a quarter mile from the field).

It shows I own it in 4k already (I think I redeemed an old digital copy code a while back). Too bad no way to get it in Movies Anywhere.

Curious, what does upconverting do to a movie like this where the visual appeal is near zero? Great movie of course, I grew up when it came out and saw in theaters and have seen it from beginning to end probably 30 times in life. Just not sure of the benefit. ***Besides finally being able to see a car you were riding in during the credits.
