This game is a lot different from previous AC games in a lot of ways. I personally really enjoy it, but others may not. It (the ultimate edition at least) does come with AC III Remastered, which in itself costs $40, so not a bad deal. If you're really looking for a classic AC game, you do at least get that, but don't expect a super familiar experience from Odyssey.

If you want AC 3 then you want gold or ultimate. Ultimate just gives you a few extra in game items which is up to you if that's worth $6. Gold edition has everything you'd need.

I still need to start the Origins DLC. I hear this game is basically the same in terms of gameplay.

It does have a lot of similarity. One of my favorite additions on top of mercenaries that hunt you down is the Cult that you have to unearth and eliminate member by member. I didn't really get into Assassins Creed in the past (Aside from Black Flag) but with Odyssey there is so much depth and so much to see/do. As with Origins, you can go anywhere on the map. I know past AC releases have been quite linear on movement but the new releases make it a true open world experience.

I've gotten 50 hours of game play just from finishing the main story arc. There are several other arcs. This game to me feels like The Witcher but in the Assassin's Creed universe of course. You can't go wrong with this one. Just watch out for snakes.

Easily spent over 100 hours in this game and was nowhere near 100% completion (everything explored, all challenges etc.).

Not as good as Witcher 3 w/DLC which is still the all-time best RPG for me, but it's good. Witcher 3 I did everything, this one I just got tired of it.

Wondering about this deal, as I am playing Origins right now but have about 5 games on the backlog. But I feel this is a decent price. Even with the base game dropping say to $19.99 or even dare I say $14.99 I don't see the DLC coming down under $25. Thoughts?

OP you forgot the most important thing for people who bought the normal version at launch...

The "season pass" is on sale as well:
Assassin's Creed Odyssey Season Pass - $23.99 (40% off)
https://store.playstation.com/en-...IONPASS000

I'm off to buy it. I finished the original game soon after launch, but am waiting for ALL the DLCs to be released before I play through it all. Should be finished I think around July? But I doubt the price will go any lower for the season pass than this, so grabbing it now.
