I was first considering this exact TV as my first choice and waiting for this kind of sale. In last month or so I realized that 85 inches is small for my primary viewing distance so got this versatile LG HU80KA projector that doesnt need to be mounted. I can now control size of image from 40 inch to 150 inch, watch TV anywhere by just plugging in the power cord as this is a smart projector with LG WebOS. I got this from Costco with 4 years warranty. Just my 2 cents if it helps anyone.

i am on the fence to buy this projector, are you happy overall so far...

Authorized seller? Looks like Beach Camera is but I don't see Rakuten. Wonder if there would be any kind of issues with the warranty.
I have bought items from Beach Camera through Rakuten. After the sale, you can get an invoice/receipt from beach camera. I used this receipt when I had to file a claim with LG and they required a receipt with Beach Camera information/logo.

Lol. You have absolutely no clue what you are talking about. The X850F will blow the two TV's you mention out of the water. I have seen the TV's you mention in real life. No comparison. Not even sure how you are bringing two IPS screens into this conversation?
I think it depends on usage really. All three of these have VA panels (not sure what you mean when you say bringing IPS into the conversation). Not one of these sets "blow the other two out of the water". Overall pretty comparable.

Yeah, blow the other two out of the water is a pretty accurate assessment. The contrast isn't even comparable and certainly isn't enough for HDR.

Yeah it doesn't seem like a good idea to have a VA panel on something so large.

You are at the level of buying what you like best. If you like Sony buy Sony if you like Samsung do accordingly don't be bullshitted by a couple of ratings. At this level it's personal choice so choose be happpy and don't look at these crazy writings. You can justify anything by pointing out this or that. {people love to whine in these things and have the absolute knowledge oh bullshit

Got this in a couple of weeks ago. Massive light bleed/bloom in the middle of the screen and edges during dark scenes. I would avoid.

Did you try to exchange it somehow? Sounds like you got a dud. If you look over the reviews (especially at AVS), you'll see it's mostly positive (much better than what you see from larger Vizios and TCLs), but there are some that got bad screens and needed to exchange them. Who knows if the thing was even mishandled during shipping. Wish BestBuy would run a sale on this tv and I would drive to one that has it in stock and buy it in a New York minute.

What are you guys talking about? This TV does have a VA panel and it is 4K. I would only go IPS if maybe sitting distance is really close at like 8' or something.

I was on the fence too hence bought it from Costco as they 90 day return no questions asked. Also 4 year warranty if you buy using citi visa card.

Overall I am happy due to ability to get upto 150 inches near 4K picture, versatility, portability, the currrent price point of ~$2000 ease of use and stow away. Have any more questions feel free to PM me.
